Wish I had a macro lens for this moment, oh well, the sigma seemed to do pretty good anyway since it is a telephoto not a macro! taken at 400mm handeld.
I had my first exam today (two actually) they were pretty easy but I need to revise for the other subjects coming up, all in this week thank god, then next weeks my last week in school then I'm off for the easter holidays, two whole weeks, bet you they will go photo-less though knowing my damn luck!
(ps the midges might look nice now but there not so nice when there going in your mouth and up your trousers!)
Can you smell it? I sure can I must have gone through half a box of matches during this shoot, I still have the smell stuck in my nose and it's driving me crazy. Composite of 3 images, used my 85mm f/1.8 and 20mm extension tube with a bare YN-560 flash camera right 1/4 power with a snoot, triggered with a Cactus V5 trigger.

birding=waiting, me no experienced birder, like many birders I got to wait for birds, specially after mercury hitting 41 degrees.
I sincerely don't know why, but on today's hot sunny noon, this fellow allowed the camera as close as 6 inches, and me sitting besides him just a foot away. At that distance, I could have caught him easily with bare hands, but did not want to break his trust in me. So, caught his pictures and left the place.
Generally, calotes are active during sunny parts of the day and this is the time when taking close-up shots without zoom is highly challenging, even for experts. The best times to shoot them are at dawn before sun warms them up or on gloomy days, where they are lazily basking around.

Frank the Hot Dog Vendor regretted his decision to move his hot dog stand to the Death Star. He had plenty of clients but they weren't as friendly as his old clients, especially when he ran out of mustard.
He quickly moved his hot dog stand back to Lego City :-)
