Summer, joy, love, shine, hot - these words come to my mind when i look at this image!
So let's play a game: Write down as many words as you want that come to your mind when you look at this picture (kind of association), please don't read the other's words before you write down yours and don't think so much, just quickly! I'm just curious! :)
Of course you can write a normal comment after your words...
Have a beautiful weekend my friends!

“From the Fridge”
Some of you suggested i made the background whiter to blend with the white Flickr page. So i did. Thank you, it was a great idea. Thanks for seeing, liking & commenting on this pic.
As shot & framed. Passed through Capture NX to retain colors.
Rocks of course are not really hot at all, but they kind of look that way with the glow from the flame.

Now that winter has finally arrived, the last few days have been frigid and going out is not always an option. However, it is possible to take a good winter image even within the confines of your own home. What is more common in winter than a crackling fire in the hearth? What other images come to mind?
I´m back on the mend after being bedbound for two week.
It seemed that a bacteria really liked my throat so much that it nestled itself in my tonsils and had a great time there, it had so much fun that it inflamed all of my lymph nodes in my mouth and neck. This made it almost impossible to swallow or to talk thanks to the swelling.
But I´m feeling a lot better now thanks to the antibiotics I got from the hospital.
This photo illustrates how my throat felt the last two weeks. I didn´t have any pictures of broken glass or of a bunch of needles and I just don´t feel like setting up a photo at this stage.
I want to thank everybody for you kind words.
A five day old Red-footed Tortoise,
This is one from a clutch of 4 eggs, two of which have broken out, and the third is now just in the process of doing so.
You can see the egg tooth remains at the front of his beak, as does much evidence of his recent start of life in an egg, the yolk of which he has just finished subsuming underneath.
The red-footed tortoise (Chelonoidis carbonaria) is a species of tortoises from northern South America. These medium-sized tortoises generally average 30 cm (12 in) as adults, but can reach over 40 cm (16 in). They have dark-colored, loaf-shaped carapaces (back shell) with a lighter patch in the middle of each scute (scales on the shell), and dark limbs with brightly colored scales that range from pale yellow to dark red. Recognized differences are seen between red-footed tortoises from different regions. They are closely related to the yellow-footed tortoise (C. denticulata) from the Amazon Basin. They are popularly kept as pets, and over-collection has caused them to be vulnerable to extinction.
Their natural habitat ranges from savannah to forest edges around the Amazon Basin. They are omnivorous with a diet based on a wide assortment of plants, mostly fruit when available, but also including grasses, flowers, fungi, carrion, and invertebrates. They do not brumate, but may aestivate in hot, dry weather.
Eggs, hatchlings, and young tortoises are food for many predators, but the main threats for adults are jaguars and humans. Population density ranges from locally common to very scarce due in part to habitat destruction and over-collection for food and the pet trade.
A bit last minute this week. I had it in mind to use the tap but wasn't sure what I was going to get. Not as close up and macro as my previous couple of shots but I still like it and the path your eye takes fro meh Hot to the reflection of the camera and me.
this is one of my little white bowls that I use for serving up dipping sauces for finger food

Skeleton me | Love, don't cry - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This is day two and a sign of things to come. I love and collect vinyl figures. This is probably my favorite one, he is a limited edition (Only 1,000 made) and my most expensive one as well.
Today I had a tough time deciding which photo to use, but due to the heavy DOF and limited coloring from natural daylight coming in I chose this one.
