“People are like stained - glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Psychologist

From a scientific point of view, here are some interesting facts.

“These sparks from the sparkler are HOT. I mean super hot. It depends on the kind of sparkler, but the temperature of these sparks can be anywhere from 1800°F to 3000°F (1000°C – 1600°C).

How hot is that? Here are some temperatures of some other things you might have seen.

- Human body = 98°F (37°C)

- Your oven can get up to 550°F, but the element (the heating part) can get up to 1500°F (815°C).

- The glowing filament in an incandescent lightbulb is about 4500°F (2500°C).

- Iron melts at 2800°F (1500°C).”

Number 34 of my 365 photo challenge - A macro image of a group of tea candles.

A small flower, only about 15mm in length. Different bee species frequent them in our garden.

The end of plastic straws lit with a light covered with a red filter. Love the depth of color.

Dual use photo today. Macro Mondays and 365. The steam is for real - bread was straight from the oven.

Thanks for looking!

Some days I wish I didn't see a photo in everything I do. Getting too close to a pot of boiling water was not a smart idea.....boiling water hurts. Lesson learned.....

The Heat Is On

The heat is on, on the street

Inside your head, on every beat

And the beat's so loud, deep inside

The pressure's high, just to stay alive

'Cause the heat is on

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Tell me can you feel it? Tell me can you feel it?

Tell me can you feel it?

The heat is on, the heat is on

The heat is on, it's on the street

The heat is on

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Tell me can you feel it? Tell me can you feel it?

Tell me can you feel it?

The heat is on, the heat is on

The heat is on, it's on the street

The heat is on

The shadows are on the darker side

Behind those doors, it's a wilder ride

You can make a break, you can win or lose

That's a chance you take when the heat's on you

When the heat is on

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you

Oh woo oh ho, oh woo oh ho

Tell me can you feel it? Tell me can you feel it?

Tell me can you feel it?

The heat is on, the heat is on

The heat is on, it's on the street

The heat is on, the heat is on

The heat is on, it's on the street

The heat is on, the heat is on

Macro Mondays: Herbs and spices

I am not a lover of extremely spicy foods so my bottle of red pepper flakes hardly ever gets opened so I thought I would use it for todays shot.

It has been slow on the bird front locally, so I am focusing on Macro and other types of photography. I have no idea the type of bug, other than it is a red bug.

Selective coloring, macro image of tiny chili peppers indigenous to southern Philippines.

I took a version of this image last winter but it wasn’t sharp. I took this new pic this week with a tripod.

The light of glowing wires inside the tube is reflected by the old and dusty copper shield of a cathode ray tube.

a few hours ago my friend/enemy antonio iacobelli posted a beautiful picture of a lighter, captured in the moment when the fire was being lit (see comments).

as i saw it, i wanted to try it myself; i've shot a few photos and then made a collage using the three best ones.

my pictures aren't as good as his, but one more time i have to thank him for being such a constant inspiration.
