Vicenza Middle School hosts its Grand Bazaar Jan. 22, transforming the whole seventh-grade wing of the school into a Middle Eastern market for the day.
After researching the background history, geography and local products of a designated country, more than 80 seventh-graders displayed their colorful, culture specific wares.
Italians students from a middle school in Malo, about 10 miles northwest of Vicenza, experienced the bazaar while visiting the VMS as part of their annual cultural exchange program.

This is an event hosted by Pheasants Forever, Logan County Fish and Game, Whitetails Unlimited in Belefontaine, Ohio. Youth 10-17 participated and learned how to safely hunt for pheasants in the field using hunting dogs. Several Adult Pheasants Forever Mentors, parents Logan County Fish & Game Board of Directors came out to help the participants in the days events. Breakfast and lunch was donated by the Logan County Fish & Game. Whitetails Unlimited donated door Prizes, Mrs. Willard O'Brien and her daughter donated a free Pheasant Texidermy service to one lucky youth this day.

U.S. Army Garrison Japan hosted “Bring Your Kids to Work Day” on July 25 on the Camp Zama, Sagamihara Family Housing Area, Sagami General Depot and Yokohama North Dock installations. Nearly 50 families participated in the event. The event provided an opportunity for school-age children of USAG-Japan employees to observe their parents’ work environment and understand their duties and responsibilities. The United States Army Garrison Japan and its 16 supported installation sites are located in the island of Honshu and Okinawa in Japan. The USAG Japan mission is to support the Headquarters, U.S. Army Japan / I Corps (fwd) to ensure mission readiness and the quality of life of the Army community in a sustainable, transforming joint and combined environment.
The USAG-J area of responsibility spans 1,500 miles from north to south of Japan. Camp Zama, home for both HQ USARJ and USAG-J is located approximately 25 miles southwest of Tokyo in the cities of Zama and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The Camp Zama base cluster includes Sagamihara Housing Area and Sagami General Depot.

After Carrer de la Princesa, we would head up Via Laietana towards Barcelona Cathedral. Before we got there, we stopped somewhere for a drink. Later on we would walk back down this road, trying to get to the History of Barcelona Museum, but ended up walking down to Port Vell instead!

Sen. Tom Udall hosts Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell in Doña Ana County for a tour of the proposed Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. The visit included a briefing and tour of the U.S.-Mexico border by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials, a hike in the Sierra de las Uvas, a press conference and a public meeting in Las Cruces.
The British Embassy in Bahrain hosted a children’s Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Monday 4 June to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second’s Diamond Jubilee.
More than 100 children, teachers and volunteers enjoyed a lively afternoon in the gardens of the Ambassador’s Residence. The children played lots of different games, had their faces painted and enjoyed a special Jubilee tea. There was also a Mad-Hat competition in which five winners received prizes from the Ambassador.
Ambassador Lindsay commented: “It was wonderful to be able to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in this way. Street parties are very much part of the British tradition of celebrating Royal occasions. I hope the children will remember this special day for a long time. Her Majesty enjoys great respect and affection all across around the world, and the ties between the Bahraini and British Royal families remain as close as ever.”

In 1492 Isabella and Ferdinand completed the reconquest, expelled the Jews, started Imperial acquisition, by way of Columbus, and, in Santiago, founded the Hostal that bears their titles, if not names. That is if you believe the tourist office information: other sources suggest 1499. The ornate facade dates from 1511. The style is plateresque, in other words "silver smith style". It is a Spanish derivation of Italian renaissance detailing - other examples can be found across Spain. The hostal was established for poor and sick pilgrims. Now, as a Parador, it is no longer charitable, but you can stay there if you want to be close to the busking pipers and noise of tourists and pilgrims. (The cheapest rooms are 225 euros with obligatory breakfast for 20 euros each.) If you are not deserving poor when you arrive, then you will be before you leave.
Camp Mabry hosted its annual Texas Military Forces Open House featuring the American Heroes Air Show on April 21st and 22nd in Austin, Texas to celebrate those who serve and sacrifice. The free two-day event featured an opening ceremony, a naturalization ceremony, World War II reenactments, military helicopter demonstrations and other interactive activities to educate the public about the National Guard.
