I am not a holiday guy mostly because as a lifelong solo dude with no kids, IMHO holidays are really just for kids. BUT, what I do like about December/January holidays is the power boost in colors especially RED! This Berny is just so photogenic...I have a bunch of holidays props and I have a commercial watch photoshoot this week so I had to clean up my studio and do some test fires. For all the photogs in the house, there is nothing better than full bokeh with a fully decked out Xmas tree as a background and with something interesting the foreground....It is easy to get distracted with all the commercialism but like a camera, I just try and focus on the good stuff and not the noise!

Disappointingly this clock which was built as recently as 1977 had stopped on my visit with the clock showing an unchanging 12.12 even though it was 15.55 and we'd turned up for the 4.00 performance of the whistling chimes. There were still lots of tourists hanging around for some horological action. Bowled !
Back in 2008, I completed my fifth mechanical clock simply titled “Mechanical No.5”. It used kitikata rice paper to set off the numbers on these sort of fanned-out panels, it used a reliable and accurate dead-beat-style escapement, and it featured magnifying lenses to accent the hands. That clock received a lot of attention when it was posted online, and was one of my favorites, so a revisitation of that style was in order. “Redux V” is titled as such not only because of the revival of “Mechanical No.5”, but also fits because the five is a dominant visual element on the clock.
Final measurements: 30” tall (without pendulum and weight) 14” wide, and 7” deep.

Another budget priced watch to my collection. I am impressed by the quality of this watch, gets worn very often. Case size 40mm, Rhonda 5030D quartz movement. At the price I paid I would consider it as one of my better purchases.
This is my 1986 Casio DW 310 HD watch. I got it I believe around 1987-88, not sure. Was my second unit of this watch. The first one... errr, somehow broke. But this unit has been my watch for years and years. I have a very emotional link to it, and is my keeper watch along with others. A fantastic timepiece, as strong as to be able to stay for years with me.
This was Clint Eastwood's watch in the "Heartbreak Ridge" movie.

That's what it says on the dial, but this is a brilliant reproduction made by my father, a Fellow of the British Horological Institute...
I went poking around in his workshop this afternoon in search of camera fodder and discovered a treasure trove of inspiration. Unfortunately, the light wasn't good, so I shall return another day better equipped.

Another web portal I am active in we post a daily shot of which watch we are wearing. I just put this red FKM strap on the Pagani and really like how it looks and feels. BUT, I think Vlada could make any watch look better and this is a nice pairing.
My latest Micro Brand purchase. Came across this brand on a watch forum that I visit. I went to the makers site to see what was on offer. This was the one that caught my eye.
Just beautiful in real life, fantastic presentation & superb finish. Luckily in my price range !
