With his earrings, this boy struck me even more as a common hooligan in Singapore(in Singlish, we call him, Ah Beng). The trademark colored hair, earrings, and sloppy dressing make for the perfect Ah Beng.
Yet, this chap is far from that. His hair is naturally brownish, his earrings there for some traditional purposes, and his dressing common to the way the kids dress there: uneventful. He dutifully takes his younger sister to school everyday, and cares for her in a way that puts me to shame as a brother of younger sister too.
See this for proof.

The pre-match atmosphere at Elland Road in the game between Leeds United and Millwall in May 2009 for the Playoff semi-final second leg. The game ended 1-1 with Millwall winning the fixture 2-1 on aggregate, however they went onto to lose the final 3-2 to Scunthorpe. There was a high amount of passion from both set of fans and the Police were forced to escort the Millwall fans to the stadium, due to the Millwall fans having a reputation for hooliganism.
Today I took delivery of my Cannondale Hooligan, a bike which defys many conventions of bike design. And it is just so good to ride. The easily recognisable Cannondale 'lefty' front fork makes people take a puzzled second look as they try to recognise just what the bike is supposed to be.

First hooligan (Thaleichthys pacificus) of the year on Twenty Mile River, for me anyway. Ended up dipnetting about four dozen.
