This longhorn was leaving the buffalo party. I needed to get his attention for the shot, so I shouted out, "Hook 'em, Horns!" He turned around and smiled. He must be a UTexas grad, too.

Hook and chain hanging from the back of my Dads old International tractor. I used two large reflectors to block out the sun and prevent strong shadows. Hook was lit with a hand held SB900. I also heaved an old door onto the bonnet of the tractor to block out a distracting view.

This was up near the top of Teanaway Ridge - I thought it bore a striking resemblance to a giant green fish hook stuck in the mountain

Aporosa benthamiana Hook.f. Phyllanthaceae. CN: [Malay sand regional vernacular names - Sebasah (generic to most Aporasia), Kayu Semasak; Borneo - Binang, Kayu kadang daun, Kayu masam, Kumpang, Ra], Crescent tree. Distribution - Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Philippines. Sub-canopy tree up to 26(-30) m tall and 30(-35) cm dbh. Stipules ca. 13 mm long, asymmetrical, leaf-like. Leaves alternate, simple, penni-veined, glabrous. Flowers ca. 1 mm in diameter, yellowish, placed in racemes. Fruits ca. 16 mm long, orange-red, dehiscent capsule, seed with orange aril.
