This is my first carved hook. I carved it from a wooden dowel, using only a steak knife and some sanding paper. Crude, yes, but it was efficient enough for a first time. I plan on buying a dremel with specific attachments that will help to carve intricately.

This was taken for a feature in Total Carp Magazine to highlight hook patterns used in carp fishing.

Processed in LR2 and shot on a 60mm macro lens to create the shallow depth of field. Off-camera TTL flash in from the left to avoid reflections off the plastic packets.
