Betty Gean (Smith) (Beeman) Laverack HONEOYE - Betty Gean was born the eighth child of Walter and Florence Smith. She passed on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents: husband, Warren Beeman; siblings, Olga, Chillian, Margaret, Agnes, Millie, Roger and Dorothy; and daughter, Linda Laverack. Betty Gean is survived by her loving husband, William P. Laverack; brother, Donald (Ellen) Smith; children, Karyn (Lee) Herman, John (Christine) Laverack, Warren (Pam) Beeman, Kathleen Beeman, Malcolm (Carrole) Laverack, Deborah (Robert) Marshall, Denise (Terry) Cratsley, Fiona (Ian) Cairns and Bettina (John) Davison; grandchildren, Michael (Sue), Bradley (Jessica), Katie (Jason), Peter (Fran), Danny, Jannette (James), Rob (Casey) Chas, Maria, TJ (Katie), Matthew and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Justin, Siri, Orien, Hunter, Anthony, Jacqi, Brennan, Rosi, Connor, Isabelle, Briannah, Jacob, Megan, Lacey, JR, Jozelynne and Gage; friend for life, Betty Baker; special friends, George and Nancy DeSain, Katja Pollmann and Nelson and Donna Mastin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty Gean married Warren Beeman on Nov. 27, 1948 in Canandaigua. They moved to Honeoye in 1954, where they raised their children. They were involved in the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and Honeoye Beach Association as members and officers. Upon the death of her husband in 1982, Betty Gean enrolled at Finger Lakes Community College and graduated with high honors. She worked for the migrant tutorial program until her retirement. She was a member of Action for a Better Community's Ontario Community Action Advisory. She was also a volunteer for Compassionate Care, church deaconess and member of Ontario County Genealogical Society. In 1998, Betty Gean met and married Englishman William P. Laverack. They enjoyed travel and living on two continents, Moorends, England and Honeoye.

week.50 : This fall is located right in the village of Honeoye Falls, NY. The harsh contrast between the light from the setting sun and the shadows required a little HDR treatment. The building in the upper left hand corner is the Ritzenthaler Saw Mill (ca. 1890).

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Ryan Barski is a jazz drummer currently studying with Rich Thompson at the Eastman School of Music. Ryan has been surrounded by music and the drum set from a very young age. His father first introduced him to the drums with a set for Christmas at the age of 4. Ryan comes from the town of Honeoye Falls-Lima and his dream is to follow a path similar to other HFL greats such as Ted Poor, Fred Sturm and Ike Sturm.
