We tore up some of the flooring to see what was underneath...more of our silly curiosity. The very bottom layer is the original lino...it's swirly and very cool.

I refinished our coffee table this weekend. Well, I finished refinishing our coffee table this weekend. I started it a month ago and through a comedy of errors, only got it to be presentable yesterday.

 

NOTE: Semi-Gloss Verathane seems to leave an almost white finish on wood, regardless of what color the wood is underneath.

 

Anyhow, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now I just need to get more coasters.

The stupid pedestal sink was not secured properly. None of the screws were into studs, and the people who lived here before had a kid. It wouldn't have taken much for that stupid thing to have been pulled down causing a bad injury. Retarded.

We're updating our bathroom. Really we just meant to strip the wallpaper and repaint it. Since it was all apart the boy and his dad have decided to make it a bonding project. They took out the soffit and put in the new light we picked out. Here's the boy sawing away the beams that held up the soffit.
