Found a notebook I kept when I was with my ex and we were making plans for the house we bought. A few of these ideas materialized, and for some reason I held on to this notebook for the last 6 years. Felt good to toss everything.

Comming along nicely, if they work tomorrow...

Mark Samuel redoing our backyard (August 2009)

The new color "Copper Beach" I believe..

Our spacing got a little wacky right here. Oh well, other than that, it's great!

When we lifted the pad under the nasty carpet we found tons of white sand/powder stuff.

I needed a place to store spare lumber. Leaning against the wall is fine during summer, but come wintertime I need the garage cleared to park in there. I therefore decided to build an over-door storage rack.

Our bathroom seems so much bigger without the door.

The view of the backyard from the attic. That's our garage that you see.

The left cabinet occupies the area that was once a wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room (floor transition is where the wall was)

Here it is from another angle.

A Magnetic knife holder can be described as a kitchen Magnetic Strip to place our knives safely. It contains neodymium magnets which hold the metal equipment placed on it. These Magnetic knife holders can be put on walls or can be placed anywhere in the kitchen according to our convenience.

after that built-in vanity was torn out and walls patched.

The stick-on "tile" floor from before. Also showing the crappy, non-matching molding, and bad 80's looking wallpaper.

See? Pink with green lines! Oh how pretty!

It was all her idea really.

The dishwasher and fridge are enjoying a nice stay in our guest room.

My Dad works on installing eyeball lights over the breakfast bar.

Trust me, it was scary after I moved the vanity out. This is the cleaned up version. Anyone want to help install a new vanity and floor????

We recently decided to re-grout the tiles just inside our back door. As we were working on it, we realized we needed to re-set most of the tiles as well. So we pulled them all and got new ones.

check out that awesome floor tile! That sir, is staying.

Plus parts of the green office and blue bedroom in the back.

Which one do you think is level?

The front windows from the outside. The grill design is pretty cool and adds some character.

OMG I'M DONE STRIPPING THE WALLS

more kitchen. props to jennifer and jessie for moving the fridge to paint behind it...

The cover is in place and there doesn't seem to be any leaks. The next step will be to fill in the holes.

This will be replaced with tile.

Lower interest rate

Securing a home improvement loan has many benefits, one of which is the fixed and lower interest rate. Your interest rate will be higher if you take out a personal loan. Additionally, the interest rate on the home improvement loan is fixed. You can save a lot of money over the long term by calculating a lower interest rate on a higher amount for a longer period of time. Paying off a loan is easier and more rewarding when you do so over a longer period of time and at a lower rate of interest.

Lower EMIs:

Your monthly payments will be less if you took out the loan at a lower interest rate for a longer period of time. As opposed to taking out a loan with a higher interest rate, you will pay a lower EMI each month. A loan with the lowest EMI will be a blessing for you if you are a salaried person with limited sources of income. So, if you want to stay within your monthly budget, getting a secured home loan is always the best choice.

Multiple Lenders

If you fall into a lower salary bracket or have a poor credit history, you may have few options when trying to get a personal loan or only a few lenders will agree to give you an unsecured loan. However, more lenders will agree to lend you money for renovation projects if you take out a secured loan. With this type of loan, you can get a larger loan amount and a lower interest rate.

Adaptability in use

In order to renovate your house, you took out a loan for home improvements. One or two of your home's rooms could be expanded using it. Build a new balcony or increase the size of your home's covered area. If you were able to save money on this renovation and extension project, you can use it to upgrade your kitchen's cabinets and doors or add new cabinets to your room. You have the freedom and flexibility to use this type of secured loan for a range of improvement projects.

Reduced paperwork

If you already have a home loan with the same bank, this type of loan will require less paperwork. While some banks require a physical inspection of the property before approving a loan, other banks only require a minimal amount of paperwork and will take into account your prior credit history when issuing a loan for home improvements.
