It's new garage door day!
(door and installation ordered at Lowes; excellent service and work done by local company Fitz & Sons Garage Doors fitzandsonsgaragedoors.com/)
It shuts really nicely, thank Shazbot. We'll probably end up painting the door; it definitely needs some sort of finishing for protection at the very least. There's maybe a tiny bit more gap than necessary, but it still shuts snugly and with this wonky old building I'd rather leave a little bit of extra clearance.
This is the view looking toward the front door. Sorry for the shadows, my camera only wants to flash when I don't want it to flash, and vice versa.
A photo of the dormer in the super cool attic. We're thinking about adding another, matching dormer on the other side and/or making this one a bit taller, as it's only about 4.5 feet tall.
This counter install wasn't supposed to take more than 3 hours. It took 4 visits over two weeks. There was a time I was nervous I would never have plumbing in my kitchen before 2015 ended. The story of why it took 7 weeks to get #HomeDepot counters installed is at udandi.com

our neighbors (the ones who started all this painting hoo-ha) chose brown and red. i secretly think ours is much much cooler.
All of the fixtures that can be removed have been, including the vinyl stickers that were covering what is apparently a ceramic tile floor. Those tiles are pretty nasty. A mixture of dirt and some sort of adhesive did not improve there lovely blue/gray palette.
finished project...looks nice next to the new cement. maybe a little more sand is needed between the bricks.
FYI-- placing a towel underneath the leak does NOT constitute "fixing" it.
