This is because you never really know how much sunlight your windows will receive. If you use curtains with shades, then you are sure that no matter what happens outside, the harshness of the sun will not enter your house.
The theory was that roots from the maple tree had invaded the septic system junction box blocking the water from running off from the tanks into the leach field.
Blackout Curtains in Dubai offers the most modern styles for the bedroom and other rooms in the house. A new style has entered the markets with blackout curtains. By creating holes on the blackout curtains you can bring city escape to your home. It creates a little light in your home and gives a distinctive aesthetic look to your bedroom.
After pulling the lids off our septic tanks showed that they were completely full but the water wasn't running off as it should it was decided to investigate the junction box downstream of the tanks to see if it was plugged. The box is about 4' down so Ray brought out his Bobcat to do the heavy work.
Our new kitchen was finished literally one day before our offices closed, and one week before California's statewide shelter in place order went into effect. We never cooked a meal in it – other than a few quick work from home lunches – before we decided to retreat permanently to the mountain house (we also never ordered a new microwave!).
So yesterday my project was to wire the ceiling and switch for the new lights I'm putting up in the kitchen. The far left box, over the sink in the former soffet, was already there and just needed to have the old wiring removed -- the near box on the right that goes directly over the peninsula breakfast bar I had to get into the attic and mount myself. Good thing I prepared myself over the weekend, since the last time I was up there for a few minutes I wound up coughing for a couple hours from the dust and fiberglas.
The lights will be installed as a finishing touch; no sense them getting in the way while there's painting and cabinet door reattachment (that's a cupboard in the middle there) yet to do.
Replaced old bow window that leaked and started growing mold. This is what started the whole project! The living room is becoming the dining room as I have more furniture for that room now.
Dining room painting --- you can't tell here --- but the colors are uber bright -- wear your sunglasses if you come to dinner at our house
The vanity and countertop came in a couple of weeks ago. While I was waiting for it I finished up the floor. Got the glass wall tile done this weekend.

The jackhammer did a pretty good job of handling most of the concrete. Towards the middle of the remaining flower bed the concrete was nearly a foot thick and it took a while to chip away at it.
I enjoyed an exciting evening of completing the wiring of the receptacles in the basement. They may not be the most interesting electrical devices, but you can't argue about how essential they are.
I finished the outside wall with the door frame, installed the furring strips on the concrete wall section and framed in a box for the A/C tubing from the attic. Not bad for roughly 2 days work.
it's really pretty and i covet it without reason... other than wanting to thread something. anything.
Spent the last week getting work done at the new house. We've brought some of Natasha's stuff over already, but none of my things are there yet. Big move date is May 24th!
It took us a looooong time to remove all the wallpaper and glue. The wallpaper was affixed to, of all things, textured walls. This made getting the glue and paper out of all the creases extremely time consuming.
Some fool was throwing this awesome chest away! Granted, it was missing a foot and most of the drawer rails were broken, but...we tightened up every screw, cannibalized the bottom drawer's rails to use in the upper drawers (the bottom drawer just rests on the bottom of the chest), removed the feet and installed glides, and cleaned it up. The genius of this chest is that the top flips down--you can see the hinges--to create a large counter space. Given how little counter space we have in our kitchen, we couldn't pass this up. The drawers hold dishtowels, onions, garlic, potatoes, bourgie items like a tea tray and some aprons...not all in the same drawer, though.
