This photo was taken in May of 2011, this is a photo of my home in Collingwood.

I have recently come to Ontario to be with my daughter, my family still living there. I received news this morning that my home was on fire. I am told now that it has completely burned to the ground and just watched the video of them excavating it.

I will at some point catch up with you all, but I am taking a short break to digest this news, everyone is safe including my kitty, although we are waiting word on one other kitty that belonged to my son.

Love to all of you and thank you for all your support ~

Raahon ko raahi batayenge saathi hum, aisa hoga safar.

Ki ujla hi ujla shehar hoga jismein, hum tum banayenge ghar.

These beautiful lyrics are from a hindi composition by Piyush Mishra called ghar which means home. And I think they go perfectly in sync with the photograph which has Delhi’s most iconic specimen of architecture in the background. Delhi may be a lot of things, we’ve already named it many names, but it’s still our city, it’s still our home, ghar. This was clicked at the Qutub Minar Complex, New Delhi, India.

I had a lovely day visiting my daughter today and spending time with her, my grandson and son-in-law. From where they are currently living there is a view which I admire greatly. So much so that I have recorded it and posted here.

Sweetie Belle, Bliss, Burton and Button out enjoying the day. Happy Monday!

A rather good sunset straight from the camera.

Home Before Dark

‘Home before dark

Before the light escapes me

To be at your side

That's where the journey takes me’

The sun sets on 1st January 2019 and reflects on the side window of 43208.

43208 made it to York before dark, having arrived at 15:29 with the 13:06 from London King’s Cross.

It would retrace its steps, departing at 16:03 for London, arriving there at 18:27.

From London it would head back out to Lincoln at 19:06, arriving there at 21:01.

From Lincoln, the train would make its final journey of the day at 21:14 and head empty to Leeds Neville Hill depot, arriving at 23:59, quite definitely not before dark!

I’ve always had mixed feelings about the HST, they did finish off the Deltics, something that I can never forgive. That said, I think they saved the Inter-City business during the 1980s and 40 years front line service is quite an achievement.

When this is your backyard...why go anywhere else.

Playing around on HP5. been a while, one of my fav. boards...so much fun and that view!!

Homer OD'd on beer and donuts. mmmmm.....donuts. Inspiration by a few different cakes found here and there. Donut and chair are cake. I wanted to add some more beer cans and donuts scattered about, but as I was working on it at 11 last night, I found out that the customer wanted it at 7:30 a.m. the next day. I threw in the towel at around 1:30 a.m.

We are back! Hope that everyone had a great Christmas! We are looking forward to a happy new year! I have a bit of catching up to do on Flickr...I will be visiting sites and hoping to catch up soon!

Arrived home to Florida from my month in Portugal yesterday and first thing this morning, I was greeted at my back door, right on cue, by my regular sunrise visitors - Harry, the great blue heron and Ethel, the great white egret. These old friends are the perfect pets - independent, loyal, great company while I'm in the garden working or reading, and, best of all - they don't require vet bills or accommodations when I leave town. Now if I could just teach them to use the kitty litter....:)

Looking forward to getting caught up on your postings today....

Stand down photo 1944 of home guard does anyone know who they are? Could be Cornwall due to light infantry bugle on cap badges, picture badges on upper arms. After late 1942 proficiency badge and bar on lower arm.

While sitting in the blind watching the deer arrive in the meadow, this guy came out of the woods.

He is more than likely one of the twins that I've followed for a while on my trail cams.

Now he is a young buck and looking apparently looking for love.

It was a cold, frigid 17 degrees F' this morning in Bend - and this scene greeted me as I was dropping my daughter off at daycare. Smoke billowing from a chimney hit the rising sunlight and created the most amazing silhouettes amongst the tree branches.
