Hinge allows the blades to be changes easily, simple pipe/tube and rod.
This saw was purchased in 1989 , it had babbitt bearings which needed to be redone and would cost just a tad less than making a ballbearing ways for the shaft to do away with the babbitt (lead mode). I got new pulleys and 5hp 3ph motor

This universal hinged expansion joint includes elbows on both ends for an overall length of 125 5/8". e l’inarcarsi dei monti, e il beccheggiare
dei ponti siano segnali veri, tracce forse
di un mondo altro, sottostante,
che irrompe a tratti violento,
o fantasmi neppure ipotizzabili?
L’esilio comunque è in questo non essere
intero mai, non esistente del tutto
nell’istante, e sempre distante
dal vero.
