This saw was purchased in 1989 , it had babbitt bearings which needed to be redone and would cost just a tad less than making a ballbearing ways for the shaft to do away with the babbitt (lead mode). I got new pulleys and 5hp 3ph motor

a 3ph Toshiba switch, new Carter guides (Upper & Lower) ,

new "tires", machined the top down true and built the cage, painted it and used it until 2003 sporadically.

Niente d’eroico in questo esilio

casuale. Il marinaio ricorda

lo stacco della nave dal pontile,

le musiche dell’addio, gli ultimi spari

del cannone di terra? Io no,

nell’istante, e sempre distante

dal vero.

I picked up a Yashica MAT LM at an antique flea market. Got a good deal, but it had one major flaw. On one side of the top, the cover hinge bracket had broken off making the cover loose and not straight.

this shot shows the focus frame with it's glass in place and the broken hinge piece.
