"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." A really close-up portrait of a male mallard. I was lucky to catch him when he made eye contact with me.
My Bob has had a rough week... last Thursday we had to rush him to the emergency vet because he was staining to make.... he was yowling all over the house, staining while he was walking.... the vet said his bladder was full and he had a blockage.... after flushing him out in both areas, we took him home... a few days and he still acted strange... constantly going in and out of the box and nothing... but then he did make and what a relief...
On Monday I took him to our vet and she did a lot of tests, even a urine culture.... thank goodness his levels are not bad and he's acting like his old self.... he is 17 years old!
She put him on an antibiotic for a week and I'm hoping that will also help him feel better.
It's so scary and heartbreaking when you know they don't feel well and they can't tell you what is wrong...
Thank God he is doing better... so we want to wish everyone a Happy Caturday and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

i have decided to only post photos of my brother, until he is laid to rest. because when he first caught COVID, he was taken to OSU medical center in Columbus Ohio for his critical care, i have to wait until he is cremated there, sent back here, then sent to a national cemetery also here WV.
sorry for all the morbid details about some old guy who just died. its just that he has been so helpful to me since i moved here in 2000, i feel i owe it to him, at least.
Keith (I think that is his name) has unfairly criticized me in the past by claiming that I barely slow down the car to take photos. I thought I would give him a few photos for which I did not have to leave my deck chair. #1.
Every year we buy a wild flower mix to add to our garden. We buy the bag that has the poppies. I especially like these as they grow all summer. And my husband is a California boy so they make him happy:)

Undoubtedly, I loved Eddie the first time I ever set eyes on him- climbing the apple tree to get a better look into the house.
He was the owner of the wildest heart I ever experienced in any cat. In the time I knew Eddie, I was never able to get close to him, nor was anyone else. I don't know what his background was that caused his skittishness.
Eddie stayed around the house from winter into summer. He came for food every day and I would talk to him out the window. If I made any attempt to come into the yard while he was there he immediately ran off.
I longed to have Eddie come into the house where I could care for him, but, no deal. He wanted no part of that idea.
One day, he was just gone. I never saw him again even though I searched for him and waited.
I loved Eddie. His wild, wild beauty, his wild, wild heart. Where ever you are, I miss you so, so much. ~*~ Lana
Happy Caturday
When I saw the report that the Leucistic Bald Eagle made an appearance in the morning I knew I had to take my chances at this super rare raptor. I left at 4a.m. and drove two hours South. I had to wait for the sun to rise, but found him immediately crunching bones from a fish he was holding down on the mudflats. Shortly after he perched just above us next to the walking trail. Still no light but extremely close. He was very calm as he did not flinch when a jogger came by. He flew to this Eucalyptus several times and perched calmly for several minutes. The light was starting to filter through the leaves in the background as this majestic beauty posed for us. It was a very awe inspiring experience I will never forget. We had a solid two hours to photograph him that morning. He eventually flew off into the distance and we were admiring and reflecting on this one of a kind beauty.
Lorenzo has been my Flickr icon forever. I found him wandering around the sidewalk and took him home, he passed within 24 hours but he has never passed from my memory.

One of our dreams was to visit Alaska and Denali National Park. The national park itself is incredible. We were so glad we had planned for Denali. We took the 8.5 hour bus tour into the park - just long enough to get deep but not long enough to see the entire beauty. Great place. Beautiful and vast wilderness. See wildlife in its very own, untouched environment. Nature at its finest.

Peter wanted this particular rhododendron because it makes a particular chemical compound that he has been interested in during his scientific career. I don't remember what the compound is, and I don't particularly want to ask him, because I have no patience today for one of his chemistry lectures... They are always way over my head!!
