This species provides an example of sex role reversal with the females being more brightly coloured than the males. Females will also choose a male and then defend him against other females and when the chicks have arrived, the female scarpers and the male raises them on his own.

Le chevreuil est une espèce crépusculaire et nocturne. Son gite diurne se trouve dans les fourrés ou les buissons, les fougères ou les hautes herbes. De l'automne au début du printemps, les chevreuils vivent en général en petites bandes dont la constitution peut varier, mais dont les individus restent fidèles aux même cantonnements. En été, les animaux sont solitaires.
Le rut se situe en fin juillet et au mois d'août. Contrairement à beaucoup d'espèces semblables, le chevreuil mâle ne réunit pas une harde. Il se contente de poursuivre une femelle pendant une courte période, puis l'abandonne pour en trouver une autre. Si l'accouplement se produit à cette période, le développement de l'embryon ne commence qu'au mois de janvier.
La mise bas a lieu au mois de mai ou de juin. Elle est le plus souvent de deux jeunes

J'ignore si les 3 loups qui y vivent retrouveront la liberté, vu l'étrange politique concernant les loups menée par la Suisse ! (on favorise leur réintroduction, mais dès qu'ils tuent quelques moutons, on les élimine sans état d'âme. Il faudrait peut-être les inciter à devenir végétariens ⁉️)
Mais dans ce nouveau parc, entièrement repensé et nettement agrandi, les animaux semblent être à l'aise, surtout les loups qui bénéficient d'un vaste espace.
Cela dit, je suis contre l'idée de mettre des animaux en cage, d'une façon générale, sauf si le but en est la préservation de l'espèce.

Undoubtedly, I loved Eddie the first time I ever set eyes on him- climbing the apple tree to get a better look into the house.
He was the owner of the wildest heart I ever experienced in any cat. In the time I knew Eddie, I was never able to get close to him, nor was anyone else. I don't know what his background was that caused his skittishness.
Eddie stayed around the house from winter into summer. He came for food every day and I would talk to him out the window. If I made any attempt to come into the yard while he was there he immediately ran off.
I longed to have Eddie come into the house where I could care for him, but, no deal. He wanted no part of that idea.
One day, he was just gone. I never saw him again even though I searched for him and waited.

I am pretty sure this is the Mocking Bird that follows me around on my walks around the park each day. So I will call him Bill.
The piece of paper on the floor in front of Guru was just one thing I tried waving over my head to get Cousin's attention. I was surprised he stayed in this position so long, since he usually runs when I get too close to him.
I met him in Rotterdam an we had a really nice conversation. He looked extraordinary and I ask for permission to shoot a portrait.
We should actually find something in others that we find good. Cause every person has something interesting, admirable, surprising to offer. Something worth getting to know. We just have to be ready to take a close look. 🎈

Jasper rarely stays put when I want to photograph him. Usually he sees the camera pointed in his direction and turns his back or pretends to see something to chase and runs off.
Today he didn't seem to mind and I managed to get a few shots.

It's getting to the time of year where we have deer all over the place round here. Last night I saw 20-30 run away and jump over a fence together, in one fluent movement, a bit like I remember the horses in the Grand national doing, and no fallers. I was too slow to anticipate what they were going to do so no picture to show you
Whatever was chasing him back there gave him a good run. He was given explicit instructions not to kill anything. His rite of passage trek was one most elves took 100 or so years to train for, but Bayde's unusual circumstance pushed him into his without much elven wisdom behind him. He was okay with that though.
