Pacific Crest Trail, Snoqualmie Pass, Washington
On another sunny day in this endlessly hot and dry summer, I headed to my happy place: boots on a trail in the mountains. With forecasted hot temperatures even at the higher elevations, and feeling a bit lacking in ambition after last week's challenging hike to Grand Park, I opted for a familiar trail closer to home.
The dry winter and hot summer have taken a toll on the wildflowers that typically carpet these hillsides, though patches of paintbrush and daisies still manage to valiantly defy the conditions. And as always, the immutable beauty of the mountains endures...
You just have to look around and take in the scenes. Sometimes I cannot believe my life - I get to hike the Welsh mountains and to shoot in them.
When I used to live in the Black Country area of the West Midlands and my pass times were visiting Dudley's pubs winter was my least favourite season - but since moving to north Wales and discovering mountains winter has become the season I look forward to.

A few trees help frame this image of the Kissing Camels in the background. I was scouting for different angles during an early morning hike in the Garden of the Gods Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado when the sun made its way up providing a starburst through some of the trees on the right. Enjoy.
We must exercise ourselves in the things which bring happiness like friendship, hard work and simple pleasures like on this recent hike in Switzerland's mountains!
The Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley National Park are a popular tourist stop. Indeed, on this trip we passed by several times and saw numerous hikers throughout the sandy mounds. This image captures a small group of those hikers trekking up on the largest dune that can be seen from the parking area. The small human figures atop the dune provide a bit of scale to illustrate the massive size of these piles of sand.

Zion National Park. One of the most memorable hikes I've done. This is the beginning of the chains section.
Saddle Rock-Wenatchee, Washington
This beautiful rock cropping sits on the southwest side of Wenatchee. A wonderful hiking area.

I feel so lucky to have so many beautiful places like this one in the middle of the city.
I haven't gone to visit any trail for 2 weeks and I'm craving Nature!
Landmannalaugar is a paradise for hikers, offering a variety of trails that cater to different skill levels and interests. The hiking in Landmannalaugar offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes of the Icelandic highlands. It requires proper preparation and equipment. The weather in the highlands can be unpredictable, with sudden changes in temperature and weather conditions, check the weather forecast, bring appropriate clothing and gear, and be aware of the trail conditions before embarking on any hikes.
On the end of the hiking, found a water motor vehicle was flying cross the river to the hill of the mountain and stopped there… The flashlights on, realized someone fell from the mountain. Later found the mountain ambulance coming, the road was really bumping, hopefully they would get to the hospital as soon as possible, at least couple of hours.
