Seen from far above, an Arizona Central train crawls along the mountainside with the Verde river running parallel. This is the final mile before the train reaches Clarkdale, where the cement empties will be shoved up to the plant for loading. Several defining aspects of this area's Arizona landscape can be seen here, and it's quite a breathtaking view even with the train being a little distant. The hike to this spot is quite crazy, but I'm certainly pleased with the results!
One of my favorite forest hiking trails not far from home, especially in autumn when the path is full of leaves and fine mist drifts through the forest.
Von einem meiner bevorzugten Waldwanderwege nicht weit von zu Hause, besonders im Herbst, wenn der Weg voller Laub liegt und feiner Nebel durch den Wald zieht.
Sometimes it's better to hike out to where the waves are breaking than to paddle out there. But, you have to deal with the cliffs while carrying your board.

This is an old photo I took at Zion National Park in Utah several years ago. I found this while cleaning up some old photo files, and figured I post this since I have not yet posted this particular image. Angels Landing is the peak in the center of the photo. This image was taken from Observation Point, at the end of a beautiful hike that is one of my favorites.
...Turning around to look back... the end of the line... the bridge over Frozen Creek at the Frozen Creek Access parking... After all said and done, I had hiked 11.44 miles over 5 hours and 58 minutes (and according to Garmin, burned 900 calories in the process) ... Today I was finally able to achieve one of my long-standing goals and hike this sacred ground back into time. It was a memorable day well spent and truly inspiring.
