On our hike to Kinney Lake we followed the Robson River into the Mountains. The Robson River is so clear that you can see every stone in the water.
The river in combination with the forest and the snowy peaks, made the scenery just gorgeous.

I took this photo on a snow shoe hike at Sudelfeld, an area that belongs to the Bavarian Alps. The light was just great at this afternoon...there is nothing better than combining two passions - hiking and photography...

The alpine or subalpine larch trees (Lyall’s larch, Larix Lyallii) attract thousands of hikers every fall.
Monday, October 7 I hiked to Ingalls Lake, located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The trailhead is located in the Teanaway River drainage, Washington State. The round-trip hike is about 9 miles with an elevation gain of about 2,800 feet. Ingalls Lake elevation is 6,466 feet. Crowds visit the area because of the beautiful golden larches in October. I didn't count but I am sure at least 200 people hiked to the lake or perhaps a few stopped short of the lake and enjoyed the views of Mount Stuart and the larch tree. The hike is strenuous. IMG_1255
My daughter and I 'conquered' Chuckanut Mountain on a day of hiking in the forest just outside Bellingham. Hiking has become a bit of a treat these days since the opportunities in Phuket aren't that common.
It's been almost 30 years since I last did this hike and on that particular day there was thick snow everywhere

Taking it back to the countryside with this cute little story that I call vintage sheep hiking originally submitted by a photographer Topich retouched by me.
If there was 1 small thing I'd change with this fantastic image it'd probably be the composition of the sheep. I'd use the Golden ratio of the Rule of thirds to get that composition looking smick. I can see this free photo being printed and used some where perhaps on a Hvoll town postcard of Iceland. Definitely on my bucket list to travel here one day and shake hands with these crazy critters!
Hike to the top of the island Godøy near Ålesund. You can see our town Ålesund in the middle of the image. The top is only 497m high but the view is nice.
While hiking it is nice as walk along to take in the scenery as go. On my home turf in the Northeast you are pretty much surrounded by trees until you reach that mountain overlook or that waterfall. But in the red rock country of the southwest there is ample beautiful scenery as you go. Taken in Arches National Park.
