I met Peter Gronquist about a year ago and immediatly connected to this out-of-the-box thinker and artist. Gronquist is well known for his Gucci rocket launchers, chain saws, and other art works that feature high end brand names on weapons of destruction. No stranger to utilyzing taxidermy in his works, where animal's horns have been replaced by gold plated AK-47s, Gronquist continues to juxtapose luxury with nature while bringing up questions about money, culture, and society.

Friends of Mosman Art Gallery, 8 December 2011
The Mosman Art Gallery was awash with the sights and sounds of the sea when the Friends gathered in December 2011 for a Highjinks on the High Seas Christmas celebration.
Smartly attired naval officers, a crusty crew of sailors, and a band of motley pirates were among those who filled the gallery space where they feasted upon festive food, drank a few pints, spun a yarn or two and danced to the seafaring songs performed by the live band, Loose Juice.
During the night, the gallery’s seafaring Friends were treated to a tour of “Ship to Shore: 11th National Australian Society of Marine Artists” presented by the Gallery Guides. ‘Twas certainly a night of swashbuckling fun!

Catsitting Jeff Bridges is a treat, but you never know what you'll find. Luckily this is a reproduction and nobody got hurt!
On September 18th, Gallery Hijinks opened “Highly Contagious,” featuring works from Chris Blackstock, Sebastian Wahl, Robert Minervini, Langdon Graves, Jen Mann, Andrea Wan, Catherine Ryan and Peter Gronquist. The space offered an interesting array of various themes presented on media that ranged from multi-layer resin collages (Wahl), to installations including beer bottles gathered from friends’ apartments and bits andpieces from Tenderloin street corners (Blackstock.) We spoke to some of the artistsfeatured in the show to find out more about their work and how the show came together.

Leslie and Lakeshore saw the biggest turnout I've ever seen for a bike night in March. It was actually humid!
Awesome, speedy ride back to Aurora as well.
