Two of CTA's "High Performance Cars" on a Ravenswood run at Belmont. Cars 1-4 (delivered in 1960) came equipped with experimental trucks, control, propulsion and braking equipment, and this nifty red paint scheme. They were part of an ongoing test program with suppliers GE and Westinghouse to develop the next generation of high-performance rapid transit equipment.
This dupe slide is dated 1965-CERA Bulletin 115 advises that thse four cars were repainted into standard fleet colors by the end of 1964, so the slide date might be off slightly or this was shortly before they were repainted. Interestingly the old inbound North Shore platform at Belmont (which was "exit only") is still in place here.

I once was an instrument rated (hobby) pilot. Recently found this (only) photo of my last plane, N1212V, a V-tail Beechcraft Bonanza. It was later fitted with tip tanks to extend its range and performance. I stopped flying following an unrelated eye issue. A really nice aircraft. Tremendously enjoyable pass-time. Began pursuing photography following my flying days.
Factory Five Replica of the 1965 Shelby American Daytona Coupe that was the only American car to win the European FIA Manufacturers Championship for GT class (non-prototype} racers. Power by Ford, inspiration by Carroll Shelby, design by Pete Brock, driven by Bob Bondurant and Jo Schlesser.
By chance a couple of Lamborghinis turned up at a venue I was photographing. Now this is Fibonacci at speed :)

Porsche debut the Turbo at the Paris Auto Show of 1974 for model year 1975 (Carrera Turbo in North America) with a 3000 cc Turbocharged, signified by the large whale tail. In 1978 the engine was uprated to 3300 cc and added an air to air inter cooler which helped increase output to 300 bhp and the rear spoiler was raised slightly to accommodate the flow of the inter cooler and the brakes were upgraded to similar to those of the 917 racing car

The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engined supercar that was manufactured by Porsche between 2004–2007 in Leipzig, Germany. Sports Car International named the Carrera GT number one on its list of Top Sports Cars of the 2000s, and number eight on Top Sports Cars of All Time list.
The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7 litre V10 engine producing 612 hp (450 kW), whereas the original concept car featured a 5.5 litre version rated at 558 hp (416 kW). Porsche claimed the car would accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.5 seconds with a maximum speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).
