The waters of Afon Lloer cascade down to the Ogwen Valley with the peak of Tryfan looming in the background.
I took this just before the second lockdown last year. To be honest its a very beautiful spot for landscape photography with the Snowdonia Mountains as a backdrop. I struggled a bit with the harsh light and getting a decent composition of the gushing water in the foreground. I will go back at some point and explore this watercourse as I am sure there are some better spots a little higher up.
I climbed Pen Yr Ole Wen earlier and took this on my way back down.

The oval entablature to the dome has a 'crown' of foliage and frames a view of deep set interlocking coffering of octagons, crosses and hexagons which diminish in size the higher they rise. Light floods in from windows in the lower dome that are hidden by the oval opening and from windows in the side of the lantern. In a hierarchical structuring of light, the illuminated lantern with its symbol of the Holy Trinity is the most brightly lit, the coffering of the dome is thrown into sharp and deep relief and light gradually filters downwards to the darker lower body of the church.

This image is of Asa when he was living at about 3000m. I used to visit him every few days to check and do a food drop, simulating what a mother leopard does in the wild.
As the first successfully rewilded leopard in Nepal using the strategies I employed we have set a template for the future. There are details at wildtiger.org which links to the LEOPARD REWILDING PROGRAM at wildleopard.net

She stands erect, dripping in icy cold water, and gazing across the all-too-shallow inlet. What may seem ominously alarming to some is actually quite benign. She has just chased a salmon across the shallows. Despite her best attempts, however, the fish has eluded her. She stands to gain a better vantage point, taking the higher ground, in hopes of gleaning a ripple or fin dashing off into the distance. The fish has tested her resolve. She doesn’t waste much time, however, and once she is certain that the salmon is gone she settles back down to begin her hunt anew.

Relatively large warbler of the boreal forest. Breeding males have solid black cap and white cheek; compare with Black-and-white Warbler. Breeding females are a washed out, streakier version of male. Immatures in fall are quite different: lemony-yellow head and breast with blurry streaking, white wingbars, and white undertail coverts. Distinctive orange feet help distinguish Blackpoll from similar immature Bay-breasted and Pine Warblers. Breeds in coniferous forest, especially stunted spruces at higher elevations. Found in any forested habitat during migration. Known for its exceptional fall migration over the Atlantic Ocean; can travel from East Coast of U.S. to South America in one nonstop flight!

Mr. Bluebird on his favorite perch. I think he likes this perch because it is in sight of the nest and has late morning shade. When the sun is higher he heads to the shade of the Honeysuckle. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Aquilegia (common names: granny's bonnet or columbine) is a genus of about 60-70 species of perennial plants that are found in meadows, woodlands, and at higher altitudes throughout the Northern Hemisphere, known for the spurred petals of their flowers. The genus name Aquilegia is derived from the Latin word for eagle (aquila), because the shape of the flower petals, which are said to resemble an eagle's claw. The common name "columbine" comes from the Latin for "dove", due to the resemblance of the inverted flower to five doves clustered together. The Colorado Blue Columbine (A. caerulea) is the official state flower of Colorado. Large numbers of hybrids are available for the garden, since the European A. vulgaris was hybridized with other European and North American varieties. Aquilegia species are very interfertile, and will self-sow. Some varieties are short-lived so are better treated as biennials.
