On our walk through Hisley Woods last Sunday we passed an old farm yard with some lovely stone buildings. A few minutes later we encountered an awful smell on the way and almost stepped into the decaying carcass of a large badger...

The stone wall in the distance has a Spring and flows year-round. The autumn leaves are framing the streams so well. More to fall as well! In the Spring the water is a bit higher but usually a constant flow.

Limited material to work with but a break in the weather made it all the more desirable to just play and make something anyway.

I tried in vain to balance the lower stones to meet with the top ones. I guess I would have if I'd have stayed with it longer, but then I decided that they make more of a statement by not going that high anyway.
