Hárs-hegy, 'Károly Kaán' lookout tower, Budapest, over the fog, taken from a higher standpoint. Light reddish hue on the treetops is because of the sunset.
Higher and higher we climbed, towards snow and clouds. It doesn't seem steep, but it was a continuous ascent, making me go slow and my 'sherpa' bravely ahead.
On the right of my photo, almost out of sight, you can see the Oberzalimhütte, the mountain hut I was hoping to reach.

About half way between Hervey-Jonction and La Tuque, QC stands the Rivière-du-Milieu trestle, a metal structure similar to the more famous (and easier to photograph) Cap-Rouge trestle. It is much shorter, but actually a few meters higher, making it the highest railroad bridge in the province. Here, CN's daily La Tuque turn out of Garneau yard is inching its way across the structure, which is permanently restricted to 10 mph, with a few dozen cars for the WestRock paper mill in La Tuque. Make sure to check my man Julien Boily's take on this scene. Consist : CN 3171, CN 2870.
The "higher elevations" are 16 miles away in the Smoky Mountains, good thing I don't depend on local TV weather to "plan my day"!!!

As I cycle up Glen Shee from the Spittal of Glenshee the days out wonderfully bright as the morning sun lights the dramatic landscape around me. Unfortunately this isn't to last and the weather closes in the higher I climb towards Glas Tulaichean.
Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.

Out on my daily out and about today. We received an extreme cold warning again but right now it's -13C feels like -19C which is comfortable enough to get out for a walk with the camera.
The snowbanks here are quite high and unlike most other municipalities and cities around us they don't seem to remove the banks rather they just bring a grader to move the pile higher it seems.
Once again I took my Lensbaby system but this time the Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 optic on the Canon 5D Mark II and converted to black and white in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.

The 'Scheveningse Pier' has a long and checkered history. During its most recent transformation, a quantum leap was made: its two dreary & dysfunctional annexes were at last dealt with. One was torn down completely (well, a few rusty pillar remain) and the other annexe was partly demolished and used as a base for a big and cheery ferris wheel. The inside of the Pier was restyled and the big round restaurant (formerly operated by a restaurant / hotel chain 'which name shall not be mentioned' is restyled and reopened too. Lunching there was an all around pleasant experience. And last but not least: the massive concrete pillars were clad in a weathersealed colourful foil. Colourful and due to chosen colour palet somewhat surreal.

Out and about one day not far from home, yet in the higher elevations, we heard a distinct call "tschick-adee" repeatedly. About the same time, we saw some flighty movement getting closer and closer to us. Eventually, we encountered the quite adorable juniper titmouse. Interestingly, this titmouse species was differentiated from the Plain titmouse (into Juniper and Oak) reflecting their distict habitat where they reside. Though I had never seen one before (that I'm aware of), I just knew what it was by its cute crest on its head. It was quite curious about us and posed for some time for me. :-)
While I've been a bit envious of my friends still living in FL with their images recently being shared of SHC colt babies, roseate spoonbills, and easier access burrowing owls, I have to remind myself of species like this that call Colorado home. So darned cute as far as I'm concerned.
