An eastbound Union Pacific coal train travels by the east end of Eisele (formerly Clay) siding, Colorado, passing a partially hidden relic from the past. Former D&RGW tank car No. X2906, a former water car, is buried in a low earthen berm here. Many years ago, a small community called Fireclay was located here, with this tank car most likely used as water storage for the town. Now the 8123 gallon capacity car rests among the rocks, dirt, grass and shrubs, providing a curiosity to another era.
Life is full of hidden delights. Once I started studying the rudbeckias very closely, I noticed that there were tiny yellow flowers surrounding the dark center. Isn't nature wonderful?
The view from the hidden lake overlook is incredible. One of the best views in all of glacier, Only able to walk to the overlook, second part of the trial after the overlook is steeper, trail to the lake “must take bear spray” due to bear activity, forgot to take it, could not go further. View of the lake was amazing and definitely worth the hike.
My time at Dathuil Gallery is coming to a close. It's been an absolute pleasure and honor to be exhibiting there and I want to thank Lucy Diamond and Max Butoh for the invite and the support. A lot of hours and energy went into this and not just mine. I had the help of some wonderful people.
