Early 2014 has seen a mixed bag of weather in London with plenty of rain showers to dodge and some days when staying indoors and listening to the rain lash the windows has been distinctly preferable to venturing out. The puddles have been a pleasant bonus.

3 Male Adders (Vipera berus). Recently emerged from hibernation and getting some early spring sunshine before the battles commence. Photo by Nick Dobbs, Dorset 23-02-17

Digitally painted and fussed with in Procreate, Brushstroke, Glaze, and PhotoWizard.

The snow is here. So are the short days with less than 10 hours of daylight ahead. I am ready to hibernate. Still, it is nice to see the snow because, in some ways, life slows down quite a bit for me when it flies. Weekends, in particular, become my own again.

Snails found under a board, just waiting for the off.....

About 15 years ago i shot this house during a snowstorm and then i forgot where it was at. Luckily, Wednesday i spotted the snowy rooftop through the trees and knew immediately what it was. I was very glad to find it again because i though it had probably collapsed by now. The front section appears to be from the late 1800's but there's a smaller section at the back that's much older.

Another quiet February afternoon at home.

Winter's no excuse to hibernate.

To me, this is symbolic that we are all called to bear fruit in our lives no matter what "season" we are experiencing. We may feel like we are in the midst of the coldest, most barren winter we have ever known, but God still wants our lives to serve as a testimony to others about His love. We are never meant to stagnate; we are always meant to grow.

Today's theme for the Item Collaboration group was fruit.

I decided to experiment a little more with what I am learning to do with masks and layers. Keep in mind, this is only my 2nd try at it, so be nice! :0) This image is made from a composite of 5 different images. Only 1 apple was used in the making of this picture, and no fruit was harmed or consumed. Yet.

This was inspired by Brooke Shaden's amazing work, though it admittedly looks nothing like it. Watch her little how-to video. It amazes me still!

Dear friends, I am taking a short break from Flickr because I am going to move to a new apartment soon. I have lots of packing to do now.... but I will be back soon! :-)

Merci beaucoup pour votre visite, les gentils commentaires et les favoris. / Many thanks for your visit, kind comments and favs.

After 903 days without a tour on the mainline due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Diesel Electric Rail Motor Preservation Association of Victoria finally returned to running with a suburban trip around Melbourne and its outer fringes with Railmotor RM58.

Departing the Workshops building for the mainline for the first time in nearly 3 years, DERMPAV's RM58 slowly eases out of the shed in 9 road and into the sunlight prior to departing on its Outer Suburban Tour around Melbourne. 10/4/22
