The Daily Challenge Theme is vintage so I thought that another of my Nana's items would fit the bill nicely. She gave me this Cameo a few years ago and told me that she had had it along time and wore it as a young lady so it definitely fits the vintage theme, but how old is anyone's guess.

Well for those of you who followed the kitchen remodel saga of the summer will understand how pleased I am with the new version and it is finally finished ! My decorator finished my dining room and the last of the woodwork in here for me last week....so voila...here it is ! The old version was hideous and was completely ripped out and replaced with this.....I love it...unfortunately it is a tiny kitchen and my smallest length lens could only fit a wee bit of it in so you may get another angle later in the year !!!

ODC Theme tonight is Space and the only thing I could think of was the space between these 2 branches that has allowed a spider to spin it's web...normally the caterpillars move into this bush and slowly nibble their way through it....there's time yet I suppose !!!

The sun is shining and it has been a lovely day, being stuck indoors all day I was determined to get out and about on my way home and find a bench as it's been a while. There are 2 of these benches at the back of Williamson's Park making the perfect and I like the way the light bounces of their shiny surface giving me Day 87 !

These stones are under foot in my back garden, still not 100% and got stuck on the floor taking this photo, but I really liked the look of the little stone in the middle as it looks like a piece of fudge although it would break your tooth lol !!

Yesterday I visited the opticians and learnt that my sight has not just worsened but completely changed and have gone from needing reading glasses to having to wear them all the time....not great but I 'hope' that this will bring an end to the migrainous headaches !! These are the fabulous new specs and I was amazed how much clarity they have brought me already ! For Day 79 I have coupled them with a proverb found in my nan's old Holy Bible - Chapter 17 - added a crop, some film grain and finally a sepia finish for slider's sunday. It's raining again !!!

I enjoyed this challenge and headed off to Cockerham Sands to see what I could shoot, you can see Plovar Scar Lighthouse and Heysham Power Station. I would like to have a go at this again in different locations ! I took loads but decided on these 2, I think I'm favouring this one, what do you think ?

Experiment

This is my first entry to the Get Pushed group and is for round 2. I was paired with the lovely Suzie•q and after viewing my stream she set me the following challenge...

'my challenge to you is the opposite of all the natural beauty on your stream and photograph something artificial'

My initial thought was OMG as Suzanne was definitely 'pushing' me...I was worried eeek....I went through many thoughts....artificial nails, grass, models in the museum perhaps, but no I wasn't sure so being a teacher I made full use of my colleagues and ventured down to the Science department...I was offered a full size REAL human skeleton but no that wouldn't fit the challenge and it also gave me the 'willies', so thanks to Andrew I came away with a model eye, tooth and as featured a mini artificial skeleton.

Also entered for Sliders Sunday due to much sliding...

I placed him against a white background and wanted to try and give him a Gothic feel so added a texture by iBrigs, played with the curves and a mask and finally settled on this finished article...I'm really pleased as it is sooooo different to what I'm used to and a big thank you to Suzanne for a brilliant challenge....I can't wait to see her entry from my challenge.

I took my OH's little God Daughter to the park this afternoon and got some amazing photos of her playing on the swings and love the little fingers in this one as she played with the row of coloured rollers on this toy.

I have been saving this project (seen in my DSLR mag) for when I had lots of time to experiment....I have finally purchased some lighting...yey and borrowed some neon straws from my friend and after a little experimenting this is the effect I got...this one is my fave, I really like it and thoroughly enjoyed trying something new for Day 44.

Switched to my 55-200mm lens for this one at f8 and 3 led lights

Well it's been a busy day, parent's evening so late home and a small incident with a rogue cow trotting up the country lane on route. I also looked out for all the seats/benches to photograph on the way home but on this glorious summers evening people were out and about sitting and often canoodling on said benches.....would you adam and eve it !!! So on arrival home I wandered round to the church yard and found this handsome bench basking in the evening sun....I couldn't resist even though it isn't Monday !

I had to get a few quick shots in tonight before my battery died and I didn't have my charger with me ! This cold snap has drained it quicker than normal ! This is Billy's God Daughter colouring in...I think she's done a very good job...definitely a memory from my childhood, I loved colouring in adn still do although don't get much chance for drawing and painting these days !

St Pauls Church, Scotfirth Lancaster

St Paul's was designed by Edmund Sharpe, an architect who established a practice in Lancaster in 1836. He was joined in 1845 by Paley, who with Austin designed over 400 churches, schools and public buildings in north west England. The Church was opened in 1876 and in 1890-91 the west end of the church was extended, and transepts were added by Paley, Austin and Paley. The church is in Romanesque style and is faced on the outside with local gritstone, and with yellow terracotta dressings. This is in my opinion typical of Lancaster with the yellowy stone and is my local church ! Totally out of my comfort zone, being a building and I don't have a wide angled lens...yet..so using my 18-55mm and the perspective control in Lightroom, I am reasonably pleased with the result !!

Firstly for the Me Again Monday group we were to do our selfie in a favourite place and the bath is definitely one of my fave places, quiet, relaxing, peaceful and lots of bubbles - especially when a little pampering is in order...only my toe for this week.
