I have pondered over 'Fashion' all day...I wouldn't say I was particularly 'fashionable' anymore...I was going to revert to the sewing box but was beaten to it....so I got home and asked the OH who threw a few ideas at me....then I remembered my fabulous bright pink wellie bobs that I have purchased especially for a festival we are off to in a few weeks...I tried them out at our sports day last week and got so many comments in relation to 'wellie chic' thought that they could be the theme for today....are they also cliché ????

Well today is my 250th daily 365 upload....I'm sad to say though that I am struggling this week and it is only Wednesday, probably from tiredness of long days including a lot of travel. So in keeping with the school theme I carry these keys around with me at work and can end up as the bane of my life as I am constantly putting them down then wondering where they were. The new shiny one is my classrooms new lock key and of course there is the trusty whistle !! Here's to all the fellow 365ers who are still snapping away daily and the ODCers and I will try my best to catch up with all your streams through the rest of the week !

Firstly thank you so much for the well wishes I am an unhappy bunny but have taken advice and got some Thermal Patches - Thanks Barb and armed with more painkillers and my hot water bottle hopefully will ease by tomorrow.

So limited to housie topics I have used Nanna's old Bible once again and seeing as though it's Tuesday combined a Kim Klassen texture called YesterYear. The ODC Theme for today is adventure and seeing though I am unfit for any adventures today, I will have to go with a tenuous link of exploring through the realms of Photoshop and textures for my adventures today.

The last couple of days I have been going through old photographs. I had started a 365 about a year ago and made it only 28 days. How sad is that. lol I have a habit of starting something and then not finishing it. It drives my husband crazy. He always says that I have a million projects on the go but that's besides the point.

Looking back at the shots now I wish that I would have keep up with it. I wanted to make it a project for my son and document our day-to-day life. I'm gonna start it up again but my goal is 30 days. Someone once told me that if I can make it a month then I could make it for 365 days. 30 days itself sounds like an impossible feat. I'm not too sure how I am going to accomplish it with 2 small children but here goes nuttin' :D

Day 102 and I am already looking to the future and thinking about snuggling back into bed under my Goose down feathered duvet and pillows !!! So Soft and snuggly !!

I have been meaning to dig out my Nanna's old Bible's since I started the 365, I was left them along with a little silver purse when she passed. This one is a little dog-eared now although she wasn't a religious lady, I think the state of them adds to their charm. This is one of them, it got a little creased in the box which at first I was not happy about but kinda like the effect...hope you like too.

This also fits for the theme 'Religion' from Our Daily Challenge Group !

This was not as easy as fist thought, I had to take many shots as I was constantly either off centre or out of focus....not easy when you are the subject and you can't see what you are doing and one eye is sharper than the other !!!

Then did quite a bit of post processing, turned it black and white, brightened the eyes and then back to Lightroom for the Preset Antique Light and then a few more tweaks on the curves to darken.....sigh...phew !! Oooo and can you see the camera reflection ????

So this is my entry for the Get Pushed Group Round 8 where I was paired with Rick go visit his stream if you haven't already ! Rick set me the following Push:

I know you did an entire project of self portraits ....BUT... What I think would be interesting to see is your take on a portrait in the style of the Hollywood Movie stars of the 1930's or 40's. Paying close attention to the lighting, which in my opinion was as equally important as the person being photographed. Black & White naturally.

My response was of course 'yes' as I had been thinking of doing something movie star related but was nervous of putting myself out there and comparing myself to a movie ster....which of course I am not !!! So I have researched and researched and researched....exhausted sigh....they hair seemed to be the main issue as a tight curly perm or set in waves seemed to be the order of the era !! That was until I came across the so so beautiful Gene Tierney with the photograph I have tried and her hair back with bumps and waves at the front which my hair is naturally.

Light was the next hurdle so I plonked myself in front of my window and hoped for the best...I think this is ok even if I look a little startled ! This is definitely one of the hardest selfies I've done and has been another excellent Push...thank you Rick for Pushing me to do this, I do hope it is what you were imagining !

So this is the result for Round 5 of the Get Pushed Group pairing and is my 3rd entry, I was paired with the delightful Ruth aka ruthlesscrab (if you havent seen her Push please do follow the link as she did soooo well) and I was very excited to hear what my challenge may be....and this is what she set me !

I had a good look through your stream (love all those gorgeous flowers, btw), and notice that there's a common thread through all your shots (with the exception of the one where you're feeling ill) -- they are all joyful. Even the still lifes. There's joy and light in there, no matter what the subject (maybe not the artificial skull).

So my challenge, if you agree, is to think of a time when you were either scared witless or inconsolably morose. Show us that feeling in a photo...no, more than "show us" -- make us FEEL that feeling. Yeah, that's the challenge.

I was really surprised and pleased to hear that my stream is joyful...then wondered where on earth I would go with this Push....I gladly accepted and got very excited ! My mind ran wild, initially thinking of all the sad occasions in my life that I could portray...and believe me there are many....but realised that none had 'scared me witless' or had left me 'inconsolably morose' so I started to think about what really scared me....spiders, heights, spiders...then the light went on with horror and zombie films and the one that really had me hiding behind the sofa was The Grudge...not sure why it scared me so much but it did and here we have it. Ruth I really hope that you like it and I've done you proud....it's giving me the willies just glancing at it !!!

The Daily Challenge Theme is vintage so I thought that another of my Nana's items would fit the bill nicely. She gave me this Cameo a few years ago and told me that she had had it along time and wore it as a young lady so it definitely fits the vintage theme, but how old is anyone's guess.

Well for those of you who followed the kitchen remodel saga of the summer will understand how pleased I am with the new version and it is finally finished ! My decorator finished my dining room and the last of the woodwork in here for me last week....so voila...here it is ! The old version was hideous and was completely ripped out and replaced with this.....I love it...unfortunately it is a tiny kitchen and my smallest length lens could only fit a wee bit of it in so you may get another angle later in the year !!!

ODC Theme tonight is Space and the only thing I could think of was the space between these 2 branches that has allowed a spider to spin it's web...normally the caterpillars move into this bush and slowly nibble their way through it....there's time yet I suppose !!!

The sun is shining and it has been a lovely day, being stuck indoors all day I was determined to get out and about on my way home and find a bench as it's been a while. There are 2 of these benches at the back of Williamson's Park making the perfect and I like the way the light bounces of their shiny surface giving me Day 87 !

These stones are under foot in my back garden, still not 100% and got stuck on the floor taking this photo, but I really liked the look of the little stone in the middle as it looks like a piece of fudge although it would break your tooth lol !!

Street Photography

Yesterday I visited the opticians and learnt that my sight has not just worsened but completely changed and have gone from needing reading glasses to having to wear them all the time....not great but I 'hope' that this will bring an end to the migrainous headaches !! These are the fabulous new specs and I was amazed how much clarity they have brought me already ! For Day 79 I have coupled them with a proverb found in my nan's old Holy Bible - Chapter 17 - added a crop, some film grain and finally a sepia finish for slider's sunday. It's raining again !!!

I enjoyed this challenge and headed off to Cockerham Sands to see what I could shoot, you can see Plovar Scar Lighthouse and Heysham Power Station. I would like to have a go at this again in different locations ! I took loads but decided on these 2, I think I'm favouring this one, what do you think ?
