While shooting in St. Louis this man approached a friend of mine and I asking about what we were photographing and why. We spoke for several minutes as he told us of his work. He works with U.S. veterns returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. He hammed home the important role they fulfill for us and the hardships they face when returning home. I forget his name, but I remember his message. I am sure he would be ok with that. His message was simple, respect and appreciate those members of our communities that were willing to sacrifice everything to serve us. Some come back bruised, physically and mentally, others broken. All of them deserve our support and thanks. This man's service to those returning troops deserves equal praise and support. Thank you, Mr. America.

I helped my sister, Tasha McKelvey, run her pottery and jewelry booth at the 2010 Country Living Fair in Columbus, Ohio.

The grey seal (Halichoerus grypus, meaning "hooked-nosed sea pig") is found on both shores of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is a large seal of the family Phocidae or "true seals". It is the only species classified in the genus Halichoerus. Its name is spelled gray seal in the US; it is also known as Atlantic seal and the horsehead seal.
Many horseshoe crabs die during this mating ritual. They are slow and clumsy and they are easily thrown out by the sea. Once thrown upside down, horseshoe crab often cannot return to the right position and frequently is almost immediately eaten alive by the seagulls and other shorebirds. So if you find one overthrown, don't be afraid and help him/her. They are absolutely harmless and much more peaceful than other animals we consider cute like chipmunks or swans!
A current WIP of mine, i'm not too pleased with the stock or bolt areas, any suggestions would be welcome :D I want to keep the feel of an lmg but with a more streamlined, high speed look.
As you can see, her scalp is coming out of the white dome...is it safe for me to try and remove that and put the scalp back in place? Should I try and send her to a restorer? I need help!
It looks like her scalp is already partially off, so I'm thinking I could take it off, adjust the scalp/put it back in the dome properly, and snap it back on. Is that a crazy idea?
Luckily, her make-up stayed 99% in tact while I removed the pen marks. I couldn't stand the pen bits, so she has a tiny flake in her eyeshadow. The lesser and easier of the two evils to fix, I think.
I dont even ask how he gets into these situations anymore :)
