The furry kids just have to help set up the shots. A good critic, she tells me this is not a good location.

On the south side of the summit there is a decent gravel road which you can almost ride all the way up with a bike. This sign is from that road.
On the northeast side there is a smaller and steeper road that goes straight up on the side of the ski slope.

Being in the military, this is especially close to my heart. I wholeheartedly support this charity, and would hope and love for everyone out there to do the same.
Students at Zachary Taylor Elementary School in Louisville, KY helped kick off the 2012 Holiday Mail for Heroes Campaign on November 7th. During the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign, American Red Cross chapters across the nation collect and distribute cards that send words of encouragement, gratitude and cheer to veterans, military families and active-duty service members. First Lady Jane Beshear, Madeline Abramson and nearly a dozen military members from the Ft. Knox Warrior Transition Battalion joined the event to sign cards and offer thanks to the children for their hard work.
In 2011, the Louisville Area Chapter worked with area groups and volunteers to sign or create over 25,000 cards.

This is an example of a plant that has evolved a thick cuticle, or waxy secretions on the leave that don't allow the leaf to either get wet, or loose water. This is an example of a shiny cuticle, some others however, are more dull. The coating helps plants survive in arid environments, but also prevents salt to get into the leaves which would cause a lot of damage.

OK... not that I want to drag anyones night down with this, but I need some help with my homework! I do not watch the news. . . ever! And I am trying to write a paper and compare the HORRIBLE case of Sam Hose with a more recent act of racism. I know (or at least pray really hard) that there is nothing like the Sam Hose case going on in our country today, but I KNOW there is racism out there. I remember hearing a little of a story on my Sirus Radio, but I can't remember the poor guys name. I know he was tortured becasue of his race. SO... if any of my wonderful flickr friends can think of a recent act of racism... and can give me a name... me and google can do the rest!
Thank you!
I noticed that it was painted from the inside and whoever did it reversed the letters for us on the outside. I imagined for a moment that this was an actual plea and then thought that was obtuse. But I also wondered if any of those people they find alive years after they were kidnapped ever did something such as this.
ERIC HASERT/TREASURE COAST NEWSPAPERS Volunteer Terrance Thomas (center), 18, a senior at Fort Pierce Westwood High School, helps out students Ty'mori Green (left), a second grader from Frances K. Sweet, and Deonna Davis(right), 8, a second grader at Fairlawn Elementary, as they take part in the Lincoln Park Community Center's After School Club Time program in Fort Pierce on Monday. The afternoon program at the LPCC helps young students with homework assistance and after-school activities through a series of club-time activities. "We want to make sure we're keeping the kids active and doing positive things," Said Jarius Gilliam, coordinator at the center. "It's good to have something positive that the kids can resort to as opposed to not doing anything at all. It's a good program for the kids of this community." The Lincoln Park Community Center, located at 1306 Avenue M in Fort Pierce is getting ready for their 10-week summer camp program focusing on reading for children ages 5 to 14 beginning June 9th to August 15th, 7 a.m. To 5:30 p.m. The camp costs $65 a week and a limited number of scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance. Contact the LPCC (772) 462-1788 for more information on their programs.
