The grey seal (Halichoerus grypus, meaning "hooked-nosed sea pig") is found on both shores of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is a large seal of the family Phocidae or "true seals". It is the only species classified in the genus Halichoerus. Its name is spelled gray seal in the US; it is also known as Atlantic seal and the horsehead seal.
Many horseshoe crabs die during this mating ritual. They are slow and clumsy and they are easily thrown out by the sea. Once thrown upside down, horseshoe crab often cannot return to the right position and frequently is almost immediately eaten alive by the seagulls and other shorebirds. So if you find one overthrown, don't be afraid and help him/her. They are absolutely harmless and much more peaceful than other animals we consider cute like chipmunks or swans!
A current WIP of mine, i'm not too pleased with the stock or bolt areas, any suggestions would be welcome :D I want to keep the feel of an lmg but with a more streamlined, high speed look.
The hosts' son is turning into quite the little host himself. He kept my beer nice and cold with frequent additions of ice cubes.
Look who was helping me as I wrote a letter of recommendation for a friend. Mei made sure that my arm was properly plastered to the couch so that only my fingers would move over the keyboard.
I dont even ask how he gets into these situations anymore :)

On the south side of the summit there is a decent gravel road which you can almost ride all the way up with a bike. This sign is from that road.
On the northeast side there is a smaller and steeper road that goes straight up on the side of the ski slope.

For this photograph, I adjusted my camera so that it would have an aperture of 5.6 which helped to create a shallow depth of field, and at the same time show more details of the subjects facial expression. Also, the shutter speed I used was 1/1000 and the ISO, 1000 in order to maintain the good lighting and have the right exposure. To add on, I styled my subject so that he would be in the center of my lens in order to show that he is the main subject and also placed him below a tree so that the sun would not hit his face directly, and also to cast different tones in the shot. For example, I really like how a part of his hat is hit by the light and also how the green shits of the boys in the back have greener spots from the light that is coming through the trees and hitting their shirts. Also, the boy was standing with one side closer of the sun, creating more shadow in the left side of his face, helping with the result and the contrast of light. I did not tell the boy to create any specific facial expressions because I wanted his personality to show through the shot, and I really liked how he has this almost innocent face. To add on, I liked how the boys wearing green in the back helped the photograph since there is a great contrast between the greens and subject´s white face, helping to emphasize the white color. I also like how the color in the mime´s face is pealing off in certain areas around his chin and right side of his face, which gives a sense of how long he has been wearing that paint, and also helping with the details of his face.
Orange County's Yelp Helps Happy Hour took over the new and luxurious Costa Mesa 55 Tavern+Bowl at The Triangle in Costa Mesa this past Wednesday where a $10 suggested donation benefited Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. During the two-hour event, Yelpers not only sampled a variety of cocktails and finger foods, they participated in multiple raffles bringing in over $2,000 for the cause over the course of the evening. I have no clue how to crop this, tried many different, but didn't like any. Please feel free to add notes as your suggestions? Thanks! Maybe it's an action photo masquerading as a portrait? (I know I should've ridden further into the frame, but only had time for a few takes!)
