Looks a lot like a wasp except for the abdomen -- I haven't seen anything like it looking though in the bug guides so any ID help would be greatly appreciated.... The flower is rough-leaf dogwood.

This is something I've never done before, but my family and I are finding ourselves in a tough situation. We are having to move about 220 miles to a larger city for job opportunities, and have a lot of fees involved. We are having to break our current lease, and that plus the new place fees are adding up. We had no choice as my husband was unable to find a job in our current location, but he has one in the new place. We also have fees to bring our furbaby, Tito, along with us We have set up a GoFundMe for help, and anything from shares to something as small as $5 will help. I'm asking for support from my fellow pet lovers and anyone who's found themself in a tight spot. Thanks guys!

When the new church was built, the picture was relocated to the new Chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Hello everyone! My boyfriend and I have started an indiegogo campaign page for my Cocker Spaniel Hollie. She needs your help! She desperately needs to have surgery on her left ear due to chronic ear infections over time. She now has end stage ear disease :( Ear flush and medicated ear drops don't treat her infections anymore, her condition requires Ear Canal Ablation surgery. I know we have been absent on here for a long time now and I'm sorry for that. Hollie and I both would appreciate any help we can receive from the largest to the smallest. About the Surgery:
End-Stage Ear Disease requires Ear Canal Ablation surgery. The first step for Hollie will be a consultation at Cornell. This will cost $100 for Hollie to receive tests and other pre-surgery procedures.
The surgery itself will cost $2,400. This cost doesn’t include any medications for her recovery. It will take close to 2-weeks for Hollie to recover from her surgery. She will then have a progress appointment with the vet to assess her healing and recovery. In anticipation of the cost of medications and follow-up appointments we are asking for an additional $300.

2/8/09 - My friends are seriously the most amazing people. They threw a surprise birthday party for me today and I was COMPLETELY surprised. I walked into my basement thinking I'd be moving boxes and was greeted with smiles and hugs. I'm so lucky to have them. This isn't everyone at all but just a few who came outside with me to run around under the moon. Love you all.

We are teaching a new maker art class called ‘Robot World’, to help 4th and 5th graders create their own artistic robot. This after-school class is taking place in fall 2017 at the Lycée Français in Sausalito. Students are learning how to make their bots move in a variety of ways, as well as play sounds and light up, using a programmable Arduino board.
This photo set covers the first half of our 12-part course, when students get to build their robots. Each student received their own robot kit, which they learned to assemble, control and program. They first built a chassis, then wired up the electronics, assembled a remote control, then added a head and arms, with servo motors to make them move.
We then laser cut wooden figures and body parts based on their designs, which included a police bot, a swat bot, a devil bot and a chef bot. Once their bots are designed and assembled, they will learn how to program them and make them move in different ways, then decorate them, give them a story, and present a robot show to their friends and families in December.
For this course, my partner Edward Janne and I created our own robot kit, using an Arduino Feather M0 for the robot, an RF remote, a custom chassis, plus three additional servos and more parts. Our robot kit is similar to commercial products, but with a lot more features, at a lower cost. It was a lot of work, but we’re very happy with the final results, and our students seemed to really enjoy the class. We hope this will encourage other teachers, students and makers to create their own animated characters, for art and technology’s sake.

We saw several people dressed up weird... this woman was dressed in pleather bloomers, pink rubber gloves, fairy wings, devil ears, and a tutu, and was carrying a toilet brush. She walked up to tables asking "can you help?" and holding her purse open for donations. We also one guy dressed up like a kangaroo dancing in the square, and a man in a French maid outfit walking down the street. Very interesting.

Volunteers in eastern Oregon helped the BLM repair a wildlife water tank this week that had been damaged during the wildfire season.
Deer, antelope and game birds are among the wildlife that use the water guzzler at Bully Creek, near Vale.
Volunteers on Monday repaired the fiberglass water tank, built a new water apron that funnels rainwater to the tank, and improved the fencing that will help keep cattle out.
Thanks to the Friends of the Owyhee and Idaho Chukar Foundation for helping BLM Wildlife Biologist Stephanie White on the wildlife water tank project!
