I decided to hike to Stoney Hill Park and watch the sunrise. It was a well worth the effort because the location is so versatile, offering sweeping grand vista views as well as intimate landscape details. A phenomenal location, worthy of a selfie โfor scaleโ of course.

I see spring popping up everywhere even with this morning's light snowfall. That was a bit of a shocker but it certainly was cold enough and nothing phases me these days. Last night's Geomagnetic Storm lit up the sky over Howe Sound and Squamish. It's been forever since I last photographed the Aurora Borealis so I played it safe and drove away from the city for the sure shot. The stars had finally aligned with the solar forecast and our local weather forecast. Southbound traffic was constant on the Sea to Sky Highway as I made my way north to Porteau Cove Marine Park. I arrived just after 9:30pm and it looked like I had missed the show. The light was fading away. After an hour or so, it gradually built back up and then BOOM as if someone flicked on the light switch. Photographers and spectators started clapping and cheering. That was a first. I caught this shot at the peak. Captured at Porteau Cove Provincial Park, Squamish-Lillooet D, 45 mins north of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ~ October 11, 2021 ๐
