Black Kite (Milvus migrans)
I haven't seen a Black Kite for about three years.
We were on the balcony hoping to see some of the aircraft from the Avalon Air Show ( no luck with the planes) and I jokingly said 'wouldn't it be great if a Kite, Goshawk or Eagle flew past.' Five minutes later this one appeared above our house, and my phone started pinging with messages from neighbours letting me know it was here.
Iris germanica 'Hello Darkness,' one of the most stunning tall bearded irises ever. Her petals are satiny smooth and shimmer softly in the early evening light. And her color is the deepest, darkest purple/black until the sun comes through and highlights the iridescent purple undertones. Gorgeous iris!

Just dropping in to say hello, I haven't been active on here for a number of weeks. I have been putting my energy and time into other projects and I just couldn't spread myself around them all. I hope all my Flikr friends are happy and well and I intend to try and get around everyones' pages soon and see what you've all been up to.

A 6 mile walk across the moors (for the millionth time); thought I'd try clouds instead of cows. Clouds eat less grass apparently.
This guy was very curious about me and my camera one day last summer at the Lake Country Fair, In Grayslake, Illinois.
