Hell's Half Acre is a large scarp located about 40 miles west of Casper, Wyoming. Encompassing 320 acres, this geologic oddity is composed of deep ravines, caves, rock formations and hard-packed eroded earth. Native American tribes used the ravines to drive bison to their death during their hunts.
This is a picture of my hand giving the thumbs down in the grocery store. I always seem to need something from the grocery but I absolutely hate it. I felt that it was important to document where I went regardless how I felt about the place. When I was little my dad would drag us to the grocery and we would be in there for hours and hours. I also am a terrible cook and it reminds me of all of the things I am not capable of doing. I didn’t notice how often I was going to the grocery, even if it was for just one small thing. This actually made me realize I need to start making lists when I go so I don’t forget anything and have to go back so many times.
inside Eleven homes
The series Eleven is a collection of images documenting the interiors of
Frank Relle’s immediate families’ homes. Below is an excerpt from Frank’s
interview with writer Patrick Strange.
Relle’s current creations reveal bare portraits of interior spaces-often eye-level
accounts of everyday household objects and furniture. Like an inventory of life’s
generic commodities, many of the new images border on the mundane, centering
on such items like Norman Rockwell-screened throw pillows, dirty oven mitts, a
set of kitchen knives, a stack of paperback books, an over-sized plastic coin bank
shaped as a Budweiser bottle. At first, the images seem unremarkable, but as one
follows the pathways of Relle’s wandering eye, a pattern begins to emerge. These
photographs are not just a catalogue of materials, but attest to the fragile lives of
those who possess them and-in the regional context of southern Louisiana—they
suggest the nature of things that can so quickly be lost.
“After the scare of Hurricane Gustav, I started thinking, ‘Why the hell do we
keep doing this?’” Relle says. “And I realized that it was because of family.
My connection to New Orleans is more than habit, it’s because my family is here.
So, I started to ask myself what that really means—what it means to build a life that
can be washed away.”
Thus, Relle’s inquisitions have led him to the countertops and bedposts of his
childhood, and forced him to reconsider the worth of objects that have been
present from his earliest memories.
“It becomes a question of why the objects in our daily lives are important and
why they are glorified,” Relle says. “Is it because they are glorious before they are
destroyed, or is it only in the drama of loss that they are glorified? All I can do is
keep asking.”
Such questions may never be answered, but that doesn’t seem to keep Relle from
pondering the meaning of that which surrounds him. And as long as he continues
to investigate the objects and spaces that populate our lives-no matter the method
or the final result-those inanimate things will only continue to reveal secrets about
our inner selves.
Is it only in the drama of loss that the objects
of our daily lives are glorified?
I seem to recall this being published in a magazine somewhere but I can't recall which one.

HIGHWAY TO HELL 5
Hellion Rising are one of many bands performing who hail from Newcastle they have the venue jumping around straight away with 'Goat Charmer'. Matt Adamson has an excellent voice and demenour a he encourages the crowd to get involved - something they are more than happy to do. Giovanni Camillo plays a great solo before retreating to the back giving the stage back to Adamson who negotiates a wordy verse before one of the best blood curdling screams of the weekend! 'The Beast' has the band use every inch of it the stage with to their advantage . 'Just For Tonight' from their first EP has Camillo standing legs apart(ala Rick Parfitt) thrashing his guitar smiling looking he's having the best time before he's joined by guitarist Davey Reay in some twin guitar harmonics. To me, even this early, it was clear that they are one of the bands of the weekend and if they don't play Glasgow again then it's a terrible shame. Wrapping up with a storming version of Andrew WKs 'Party Hard', they leave the stage to rapturous applause – and whatever the final results, they are winners in my book!

I think "Zencyde" was the first person who came up with the Hell's Diamond shape. My version is slightly enlargerd, but still small compared to the supersized version of magnetnerd!
I think there doesn't exist any photo of that shape yet? At least I did not find any searching the Neodymium Magnet Sphere Commons and Zen Gallery pool...
Hellbore that is...although today was a bit of crazy day too. I went out to see if my camillas were blooming and I spoted my helbore :)

Hell, it was HOT!!!
The bonfire at a Guy Faulk's night firework party.
Guy was soon consumed by the flames - bit ghoulish really!
Hells Gate is the local name for a collapsed cavern, located in Uzbekistan. This is an accidentally created, man-made geological feature. Located approximately in the middle of the Karakum Desert, the area is rich in natural gas deposits. In 1971, Soviet scientists tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas. The ground beneath the drilling rig collapsed, creating a cavern approximately 230 feet (70 m) across. To avoid the dangerous discharge of gases, it was decided to ignite the gas and let it burn off quickly. Thus, Hells Gate was created.
Hells Gate Physical Characteristics
The cavern now known as Hells Gate that was accidentally created is 66 feet (20 m) deep. The heat from the perpetual flames has created a permanent pool of bubbling mud known as a mudpot. This is accompanied by vivid orange flames. This is what lead to the local name for the cavern. It is now known that the natural gas deposits in the region are among the most extensive in the world. The original expectations were that the deposit would burn itself out in a few days. Instead, Hells Gate continues to burn to this day! #ourbreathingplanet

From the ReStore in Lawrence, KS - and as I have now developed a "thing" for wooden handled hammers the last few years - it came home with me
Markings are a bit hard to see - but you do have several images to chose from. Logo in form of
- HELLER (HORSE) Made in USA -
with the Made in USA in smaller letters and USA under "Made in". Horse logo totally obscured by a rusty patch
Going all in on this - puller the head, now soaking in vinegar. Will prime/paint. Handle has some splits - glued in some 1/4" dowels and hope to stabilize. Will sand and probably seal. Did not get a look at bottom of handle yet to see if there is a weight mark
Wedge is an "S" shape and will be reset, I filed off about 1/4 -3/8" of the top of the handle to get some newer wood involved.
