Looking across Hells Mouth, Porth Neigwl, down Cardigan Bay to the mountains of mid-Wales, early morning. Been on a weeks holiday down to the tip of the Llyn Peninsula.
Water is abnormally high for July.
Hell's Gate is an abrupt narrowing of British Columbia's Fraser River, located immediately downstream of Boston Bar in the southern Fraser Canyon. The towering rock walls of the Fraser River plunge toward each other forcing the waters through a passage only 35 metres wide.

The caves run deep into the hillside above West Wycombe village and directly beneath St Lawrence's Church and Mausoleum (which were also constructed by Sir Francis Dashwood around the same time the caves were excavated). West Wycombe Park, ancestral seat of the Dashwood family and also a National Trust property, lies directly across the valley. The caves' striking entrance, designed as the façade of a mock gothic church and built from flint and chalk mortar, which was erected in around 1752, can be viewed directly from West Wycombe House.

The crater Víti ("Hell") at Krafla in N-Iceland was formed in a volcanic explosion in 1724. It is 300 m in diameter. For one century after its formation the crater was filled with boiling mud and probably fitted its name well, but now it has a tranquil lake with a distinct greenish hue.
