In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones, I am proud to present my latest MOC: the LEGO Republic ATTE. A back bone to the republic's military might, the ATTE (All Terrain Tactical Enforcer) will make a fine addition to your collection.

After an eighteen year developement the DS was unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motorshow, styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni it had an aerodynamic body design and innovative technology, including hydro pneumatic self levelling suspension. Initially deemed expensive the DS was joined by a cheaper less technical ID model in 1957. The DS was third in the 1999 Car of the Century and during it's twenty year production sold nearly 1.5 million.
In 1962 the DS received a more streamlined nose to increase the aerodynamic efficiency, still retaining the the round head lights.
In 1967 a second restyle brought in the streamlined covered lights on this example. The design had a pair of lights under each cover, the inner set swivelled with the steering wheel to allow drivers to see hazards on turns, this was not allowed in the USA at the time so a version with four exposed fixed head lamps was made for the US market.
In 1965 a luxury upgrade, the DS Pallas (after Greek goddess Pallas), was introduced. This included comfort features such as better noise insulation, a more luxurious (and optional leather) upholstery and external trim embellishments. From 1966 the Pallas model received a driver's seat with height adjustment.

I was planning on camping over night in the Hole-in-the-Wall campground however roads were bad. So i turned around to exit the northern portion of the park and I look to my left and see this lenticular cloud. With some height adjustments and positioning with the Joshua Tree, I stayed at this spot for more than an hour. With the sun still behind the clouds, the colors changed fast and dramatically. More will follow!
A few days ago, I unexpectedly spotted a 740S on the road, which I believe few people have seen before. Its appearance is similar to the 740 Turbo, making it difficult to detect its peculiarities.
The Volvo 740S was launched in January 1989 and discontinued in July of the same year. It was a limited edition model that featured front seat electric heating, Turbo version 15-inch 185/65 five-spoke wheels, and other equipment such as driver seat height adjustment, front seat lumbar support, four headrests, same-colored interior fabric, tinted glass, fog-black door handles, central control rearview mirror adjustment, and front power windows. Metallic paint, leather interior, sunroof, and ABS system were optional.
The powertrain options were also comprehensive, including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 2.4-liter diesel straight-six, and a 2.4-liter diesel turbo engine shared with Volkswagen. The body was available in Sedan and Wagon versions, with the latter retaining the sturdy rear axle due to its more spacious interior. The Wagon version was significantly reinforced compared to the Sedan version. In terms of price, I only found Francs as the quoted currency. In short, all levels of the five-door version were 5,000 francs more expensive than the four-door version.
The 740S captured in the photo should have been imported by smugglers, and I believe it is extremely rare in quantity. Its condition is well preserved, and it appears to have been usable for many years. So, keep an eye out while on the road, because sometimes ordinary cars can also bring extraordinary surprises.

- André Citroën built armaments for France during World War I and after the war he had a factory and no product. In 1919, the business started to produce automobiles, beginning with the conventional type A.
- In 1924, Citroën began a business relationship with American engineer Edward G. Budd, developer of stainless steel bodies for railroad cars and in 1928, Citroën introduced the first all-steel body in Europe.
- In 1934, debt forced the company into foreclosure and it was then taken over by its biggest creditor, the tire company Michelin.
- Designed by Flaminio Bertoni as the TPV (Toute Petite Voiture: 1938) what later became the 2 CV (1948), restyled by André Lefèbvre, included headlamp beam height adjustment.
- The flat-twin air-cooled engine was designed by Walter Becchia, while the ingenious suspension was designed by Marcel Chinon.
- Only one colour was initially offered when the car came on the scene in 1948, it was grey. A second colour (blue) was offered since 1959 and then in 1960 yellow was added.

A beautifully cared for relic from the 1970/1980's, in XL trim..
The XL added the following over the base model;
height adjustable front seats, a clock, and larger headlights.
Fitted with, I believe, the 1993 cc Pinto OHC I4 engine, which was available between 1976 & 1982, but confusingly, the 1999 cc Cologne V6 engine was also available between 1970 & 1982.
I have no idea which engine is fitted in this example.
The Ford Taunus TC (Taunus Cortina) was a series of cars produced by Ford of Germany, sharing much of its technical basis with the British Ford Cortina Mk3.

MHC Company updates its own line of accessories. Before you marksman variant rifles MHC 414 with updated stock borrowed from MHC HKR-316.
Stock MHC MSF 414 has loops that allow folding stock on the right side arms, and secure locking lever. There is a height-adjustable cheek, and an adjustable length back plate, and pod.
The rifle is equipped with an optical sight MHC NOS 4x-8x with the step-variable multiplicity night and adaptive mesh.

A friend's new car, a complete obscurity with that fantastic saloon shaped hatchback.
Daihatsu Applause: 9 taxed, 11 SORN (This example being the only GXI taxed unsurprisingly) in the UK.

Being such an incredibly rare car I'm surprised that I've managed to see my second Applause in the metal!
High points: A real strange thing to drive, firstly it's quick. So unassuming from the exterior yet the 1.6 engine really makes it fly - this Applause loves buzzing at 4,000 rpm upwards! As a passenger the thoroughly grey interior is super cushy, as if the seats had been taken from something more expensive and the 'piano key' controls are most amusing.
Low points: The bizzare driving position, sitting high up and forward combined with a low dashboard - something of a Japanese car trait? It gave the feeling of sitting on the end of the bonnet whilst driving - quite a novelty so perhaps not really a bad thing. The rear passenger headrests were complete comedy gold, both barely larger than a top-end smart phone and offering one inch of height adjustment!

A lowrider or low rider is a customized car with a lowered body that emerged among Mexican American youth in the 1940s. Lowrider also refers to the driver of the car and their participation in lowrider car clubs, which remain a part of Chicano culture and have since expanded internationally. These customized vehicles are also artworks, generally being painted with intricate, colorful designs, unique aesthetic features, and rolling on wire-spoke wheels with whitewall tires.
Lowrider rims are generally smaller than the original wheels. They are often fitted with hydraulic systems that allow height adjustable suspension, allowing the car to be lowered or raised by switch. This was developed after lowriding was made illegal in California and was targeted for tickets by police. Lowriding bans have been acknowledged as discriminatory toward Chicano culture and Latinos. State legislation urged their removal in 2022 and some local city councils have done so.

Firing the ever-impressive .50 BMG round from a rotary 5+1 magazine with chamber selector buttons, this bolt-action sniper rifle is best suited for a marksman that is often on the move.
The rifle's rugged construction, bipod and foregrip will help the marksman quickly take aim, further supported by the intelligent LIDAR-equipped scope that uses a long-range laser emitter to detect wind strength and direction as well as range to target. The scope then automatically calculates the bullet drop and wind interference with the round, and adjusts its crosshairs within the scope accordingly.
This system can also be switched off, as the scope is still manually adjustable through the D-Pad and the 2-slider, 3-button control system for precision finetuning as needed.
The muzzle brake helps mitigating recoil as well as redirecting the muzzle flash. The barrel (as well as the rest of the internals) has been cold hammer forged out of a titanium-vanadium alloy. This alloy is highly durable yet relatively light, and is also highly resistant to moisture.
The stock features a height-adjustable cheekrest, a semi-flexible buttpad for increased recoil absorption, a monopod that retracts inside the stock, and a few rubberized grip panels.

A friend's new car, a complete obscurity with that fantastic saloon shaped hatchback.
Daihatsu Applause: 9 taxed, 11 SORN (This example being the only GXI taxed unsurprisingly) in the UK.

Being such an incredibly rare car I'm surprised that I've managed to see my second Applause in the metal!
High points: A real strange thing to drive, firstly it's quick. So unassuming from the exterior yet the 1.6 engine really makes it fly - this Applause loves buzzing at 4,000 rpm upwards! As a passenger the thoroughly grey interior is super cushy, as if the seats had been taken from something more expensive and the 'piano key' controls are most amusing.
Low points: The bizzare driving position, sitting high up and forward combined with a low dashboard - something of a Japanese car trait? It gave the feeling of sitting on the end of the bonnet whilst driving - quite a novelty so perhaps not really a bad thing. The rear passenger headrests were complete comedy gold, both barely larger than a top-end smart phone and offering one inch of height adjustment!

Based on the Fiat 124 and virtually identical to the first-generation VAZ-2101 model, featuring the Fiat-derived manual transmissions, coil spring suspension all round and aluminum drum brakes on the rear wheels.
The Riva name was adapted from 1981 with trim changes though the car beneath the skin remained essentially Fiat 124 apart from lengthening of the engine stroke to increase capacity, The old OHC-engine had its valves actuated by chain, while the new one was modified to having a toothed belt-drive. The car sold in various stages of production as 1198c, 1294cc, 1452cc and 1570cc.
Another change was made to the engine in 1992, when single point fuel injection and catalytic converters were specified in an attempt to keep up with emissions legislation. In a review of the new economy car, the British automobile magazine Autocar noted its low price of only £3,158 (£10,736.82 in 2020), improved road performance and an "impressive list of standard equipment", which included "height-adjustable headlamps, internally adjustable driver's door mirror, velour-covered seats, heated rear window, illumination lights for bonnet and boot", and a 21-piece toolkit
The 1500 and 1600 versions of the Lada were introduced in 1977 with longer stroke versions of the 1200 and 1300cc engines to the same basic style, but with four headlamps on the Saloons
The Lada was removed from Westerm European sales in 1997, but continued
at the AvtoVAZ factory in the Russian Federation and was sold as the Lada Classic. Ceasing production in 2012 in Russia, though production continues in Egypt.

On my way down from the lock bridge I spotted this lovely pattern which the backlit railing had created on the stairs. Luckily, a tripod has three legs which can be separately height-adjusted so I was able to put it on the stairs and get the right angle.
I enjoyed this build so much that I had to make all versions at once!
A stock one in white, a racing spec one in red and an outlaw one in dark grey!
It has opening doors, full interior, passive steering and rear axle height adjustment!
I will donate the red one in www.creationsforcharity.org and I will keep one for myself, so if anyone's interested in getting the third left let me know via direct message.

I thought I would try some interior shots with my canon, and as I thought . . . the Nikon is a better option.
Phoned Christopher and he was depressed - still hasn't got a date for returning home, but I gather it is more to do with some height adjusting equipment needed for his flat rather than his health which is keeping him in hospital. In a way I am glad he is itching to get back home, because when I saw him mid September he looked as happy as Larry (who's Larry?) which was a little concerning. He has been in hospital since 31st August.

Bibby Wavemaster 1 sails in to Aberdeen Harbour Scotland at 18:10pm Sunday 28th June 2020.
I shot this on my iPhone, a strong wind blowing ruined the video sound , hence I have edited and replaced, I have also added a few of my shots I captured of this magnificent vessel, first time i have seen her at the harbour.
Bibby WaveMaster 1 has been developed following extensive consultation with key industry professionals. Feedback pinpointed an emerging concern over the timely, safe and comfortable deployment of engineers required to sustain optimal turbine availability.
Designed specifically for operations in the North Sea on projects located at distances 30 miles and farther from shore.
The vessel represents a robust package of performance and comfort, combining optimal efficiency with safe marine access and accommodation.
The Bibby WaveMaster 1 is unique as a purpose-built vessel for the deployment and retention of offshore support and maintenance engineers.
Its development has been driven by functional requirements, based on feedback from potential end-users. WaveMaster 1 has on-site work and storage facilities plus accommodation for up to 70 maintenance personnel, management and a crew of 20.
She is able to stay out at sea for voyages of up to one month and feature dynamic positioning (DP2).
Crucially, she is equipped with a motion-compensated transfer gangway to allow maintenance personnel to walk between vessel and offshore structure.
Thanks to WaveMaster 1’s success, Bibby Marine Services have secured a built-to-tender sister vessel, the Bibby WaveMaster Horizon.
Based off the same Damen design, the WaveMaster Horizon will be working a long term contact chartered to Siemens Gamesa and EnBW in the German North Sea. This second vessel adds a 2t capacity 3D motion-compensated to its deck, as well as a revised warehouse layout and a larger two-floor gym.
CHANGING CONDITIONS IN OFFSHORE WIND
With the increasing construction of offshore wind farms we are already starting to see projects taking place farther from the shore.
This carries implications for the industry as a whole, bringing with it a fresh set of challenges. Forthcoming wind projects will be located in deeper waters, harsher environments with increased wave heights. Furthermore, the increased distance from the shore makes impractical the daily transportation of maintenance crews to and from the offshore wind park.
Such challenges are driving innovation and the offshore wind industry is showing itself to be every bit as dynamic as the offshore oil and gas industry in responding to rapidly-changing needs. One such solution is Bibby WaveMaster 1.

The oldest Studio Camera they still have at Foto Kino Linders Venlo (NL).
Here a shot of it when still in use sometime after the studio (called an Atelier in those times) was opened in 1911. With founder Frans Linders as the photographer.
Note that the assistent is operating some kind of electric switch, probably for the studio lighting.
The sign on the wall to the right says :
"Men wordt beleefd verzocht bij opname te betalen"
which roughly translates to :
"We kindly ask you to pay while the photograph is taken".
It is still unknown which type of Globus this Atelier (Studio) camera is. More information welcome !
Update 21/05/2025:
Some of the knobs are identical to those used on the Globus Stella studio cameras of the Neue Görlitzer Camera-Werke.
This company, founded in 1920, took over the Globus studio camera production from the Ernemann subsidiary company Herbst & Firl.
Herbst & Firl was founded in 1878 in Görlitz Germany and taken over by Ernemann in 1899.
Guess it is now save to say that this camera was a Globus made by one of the 3 companies mentioned who all had a production facility (maybe even the same) in Görlitz Germany.
Plate size is about 30x20 cm.
The threads on the Focus Rack & Pinion are skewed (angled).
The Height Adjustment has 2 wooden Beams.

After an eighteen year development the DS was unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motorshow, styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni it had an aerodynamic body design and innovative technology, including hydro pneumatic self levelling suspension. Initially deemed expensive the DS was joined by a cheaper less technical ID model in 1957. The DS was third in the 1999 Car of the Century and during it's twenty year production sold nearly 1.5 million.
In 1962 the DS received a more streamlined nose to increase the aerodynamic efficiency, still retaining the the round head lights.
In 1967 a second restyle brought in the streamlined covered lights on this example. The design had a pair of lights under each cover, the inner set swivelled with the steering wheel to allow drivers to see hazards on turns, this was not allowed in the USA at the time so a version with four exposed fixed head lamps was made for the US market.
In 1965 a luxury upgrade, the DS Pallas (after Greek goddess Pallas), was introduced. This included comfort features such as better noise insulation, a more luxurious (and optional leather) upholstery and external trim embellishments. From 1966 the Pallas model received a driver's seat with height adjustment.

The Dolomite was the final addition to Triumph's small-car range (codenamed Project Ajax), which had started in 1965 with the Triumph 1300. The later model, introduced in September 1970 as the Triumph 1500, featured a remodelled front and rear, styled by Michelotti, and a larger 1,493 cc (91 cu in) engine.
In 1976, with the manufacturer effectively nationalised and following recommendations in the government commissioned Ryder Report, the Dolomite and other similarly bodied ranges were rationalised . Taking over from the Toledo model, the 1300 and 1500 Dolomites featured an identical looking body to the outgoing Toledo, except for the lengthened body which gave the larger boot of the original Dolomites. The 1300 and 1500 base models retained simplified fittings, including single, square, headlamps, basic instrumentation and seats, with the wooden dashboard and carpeting of the Toledo. There was no two-door option as there had been for the Toledo, and the shorter-boot bodyshell of the Toledo ceased production. Standard equipment included reclining front seats, cigar lighter, "fasten seat belt" warning light, driver's door mirror, twin reversing lights and a dipping rear-view mirror. The dashboard design was the same as that fitted to the facelifted Toledo of 1975. There was no overdrive or automatic transmission option. The Dolomite 1500 offered identical specifications to the Dolomite 1300, apart from the seats, but with a 1,493 cc (91 cu in) engine and twin carburettors. The new 1500 models replaced the previous front-wheel drive layout with rear-wheel drive, at a time when most manufacturers of smaller cars were concentrating on front-wheel drive cars, this change was widely considered a retro-grade move But left Triumph with a completely rear-wheel drive model lineup and significant cost savings.

Here's the techniques I used to create the steering axles on the Allelys Rail trailer, it's relatively compact, but I don't think it would be very strong in reality. Sometimes you've just got to accept a slightly weaker assembly to get the look and function you're after.
The steering works by using a 1x1 round plate with open stud (www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=85861#T=C) placed into the wheel bearing. All the complicated looking clips and angles are just to get the wheels to line up with the edge of the 8 wide frame and space each axle 1.5 studs apart. A by-product and I guess an accidental feature is the clip assembly allows the wheels to all be individually height adjusted.
The power/data distribution system resembles David Bowie's notorious 'Glass Spider' tour set. What happened before raised access floors. Remarkably for the date, the desks are height-adjustable.
It has opening doors, full interior, passive steering and rear axle height adjustment!

After an eighteen year developement the DS was unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motorshow, styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni it had an aerodynamic body design and innovative technology, including hydro pneumatic self levelling suspension. Initially deemed expensive the DS was joined by a cheaper less technical ID model in 1957. The DS was third in the 1999 Car of the Century and during it's twenty year production sold nearly 1.5 million.
In 1962 the DS received a more streamlined nose to increase the aerodynamic efficiency, still retaining the the round head lights.
In 1967 a second restyle brought in the streamlined covered lights on this example. The design had a pair of lights under each cover, the inner set swivelled with the steering wheel to allow drivers to see hazards on turns, this was not allowed in the USA at the time so a version with four exposed fixed head lamps was made for the US market.
In 1965 a luxury upgrade, the DS Pallas (after Greek goddess Pallas), was introduced. This included comfort features such as better noise insulation, a more luxurious (and optional leather) upholstery and external trim embellishments. From 1966 the Pallas model received a driver's seat with height adjustment.

Fateful composition from my recent YouTube Video (youtu.be/tlstARqX8kk) where my camera and lens fell from the tripod during height adjustment damaging the Olympus 12-40 Pro lens.
As I was sitting on my sofa watching some TV, I spotted my chair by the computer and saw these reflections in the round metal chair height adjustment knob. The beige form on the right is a sofa opposite the one I was sitting on. The rest reflects most of the room such as the red sofa with a colourful blanket and including my pink slippers on the floor! Of course all of it is distored and not quite clear, but I found it interesting enough to photograph it.

Amtrak 805 (CSX P93814) crosses under the Northeast Corridor on the former Erie Northern Branch at North Bergen, NJ, just south of CP 1. The nickname "bathtub" comes from the way the tracks dip under the corridor, for what I assume was a track height adjustment for intermodal trains.
I enjoyed this build so much that I had to make all versions at once!
