When steam heating was banned from western Denmark in 1985, Nohab class MX and MY lost all passenger duties there. But some of them returned when they were equipped with electric train heating as was MY 1156, while second engine MY 1153 only provides a connection cable. Doubleheaded IC 119 from Copenhagen at Hvidbjerg has nearly reached its destination of Thisted. Heavier class MZ was not allowed on this line.

The heating boiler of diesel hydraulic locomotive No. D1010 Western Campaigner is steaming well as she waits to depart from London Paddington with the "Western Requiem Relief" railtour on Sunday 13th February 1977. I didn't record the identity of the Class 31 locomotive at the next platform, or at least I haven't located the notes that might give the answer.
The "Western Requiem" railtour, which would run over the same route the following Sunday, had been so heavily oversubscribed that the organisers were able to fill this extra excursion. The train travelled to Wales via Gloucester and made visits to Treherbert, Merthyr and Aberdare before returning to London.
I have identified at least a couple more shots from this railtour that might be worth sharing, so these may appear in due course. I previously shared this one in April 2012.

This is Bamburgh Castle at sunset. It is on the North East coast of England in Northumberland. I have included a link here with further information about this magnificent building. As for the colours in this picture, I have done very little to enhance them or boost them. This is how it looked. It was amazing to see.
46042 at York, 18th February, 1978. A smattering of snow over the Pennines and some curious heating device which I'm assuming keeps the water pipes from freezing up. I never saw a loco top up it's boiler here but the facility was there if needed!
Der Discounter hat noch Vorräte, falls der Winter länger dauern sollte (Ich will ja nicht unken...).

Yesterday I went out the town to test new light painting equipment, I soon realised the full moon and the clear sky, so I decided to do this shot after I've done the light painting stuff.
I wanted to do this one real bad, but always waited for a good opportunity and yesterday was the right time and the right spot.
This one is a HDR, I don't usally like them though, but decided to give it a try.
I wanted to stay as close to reality as possible, the sky was really this bright and blue.
It is much harder to produce a realistic HDR than a HDR which is way over the top.
