Natural color. Redbuds aren't really red-budded, but they have well-colored flowers (and buds). See my redbuds album. I had no idea, until I took this photo, that their leaves could be so spectacular in autumn.

The heart of styria is said to be green. I wanted to see if this applies also for fall, hence I revisited the street in the rolling hills of styria which forms a heart. I have photographed this motiv already in spring without leaves.
When i came back in fall the soft light was great as was the autumn backdrop of the trees with all shades of fall and the sight exceeded my expectation.
What turned out to be a little tricky were the leaves of the vinery. They were not there in spring yet, so the sight of the heart was not obstructed. This time there was only one good vantage point to see the heart fully, and there were crowds of people taking selfies, so i had to be more patient than usual.
Another thing that i found annoying this time is that someone had the "great" idea to put up that billboard in the middle of the heart. I don´t know what he was thinking. I could have stamped it away with Photoshop, but on the other hand i do not want anybody to be disappointed if he visits the place and finds this thing there. ;-)
Salt Lake is located in Australia's Eastern Desert. It is an internal drainage basin with occasional in-flows of water from Morden Ck (left mid ground) and Evelyn Creek (foreground) from the north. Mostly, it is a heart-shaped dry claypan.
Today, tourists in their 4WD vehicles pass through the area, exploring the desert landscapes of red dunes, striking geological structures, isolation, vast night skies and after variable rainfall, the living desert of colourful vegetation and abounding wildlife.
Their main route has a memorable name, Silver City Highway. This road can be seen in this photograph, passing through the dune field (right of image) and by the round Lake Cobham and onto the silver mining city, Broken Hill, 330 km to the south.
In the past, prospectors, miners and drovers were the itinerant travellers through the area, but with the advent of gas fields, geologists, surveyors, engineers, construction workers and long-haul truck drivers are more likely to be encountered.

I'm having a bad day today and almost forgot to take a photo. Still got these dead roses (and they are quite crackly) so just grabbed them and this heart.
I will try to catch up tomorrow, can't spend any more time on the computer today.

I had thought of taking a photo of Graham's heart pills, but sadly they've changed shape and are no longer a heart.
Now I was stuck ... or I thought I was until I saw a photo in the TV magazine of heart shaped salami in a recipe.
I'm not great at this sort of thing, but I cut a heart out of a slice of our salami and then played with it in PhotoScape.
Better viewed large (I think), but thank you for your favourites.
