Further information from Darron Davies: " Rupert, centre worked as an clerk - later years at Castlemaine Foundry and died in 1980. Rupert handled all the paperwork with War Office including death of other brother Richard Oswald Roberts (left) who was killed in 1916 on Western Front. Older lady would be mother Martha Roberts who died in 1942. I presume girl to be Mavis ( who was frail) who died in 1919. Other sisters are twins and not pictured: Enid and Aimee. Father Henry Owen Roberts ( not pictured) would have been heartbroken - died in 1930 in Melbourne. Family grew out of Roberts family ( prosperous bootsellers and boot merchants) who settled in Heatherleigh, a home in Hunter St, Castlemaine, just down from Buda historic home."

MARRIAGE

ROBERTS—GRIFFITHS.

A marriage was solemnised in the Baptist Church yesterday, when Mr Rupert Roberts, third son of Mr and Mrs H. O. Roberts, was wedded to Miss Emma Griffiths, only daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Griffiths, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. F. J. Wilkin, uncle of the bride. Sgt. Bliss (a returned soldier), and Mr Alex. Griffiths, brother of the bride, acted as grooms-

men, while the bridesmaids were Miss Enid Roberts, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Ethel Dixon, of Melbourne.

The "Bridal March" and "Wedding March" were played by Mr Clyde Griffiths, the bride's brother. The church was nicely decorated with floral devices, arches and flags, with the initials of the newly-wedded pair in the centre of the room. The school hall, where a reception was held, and the wedding breakfast partaken of, was very tastefully adorned with festoons of flowers, and presented a bright appearance. The customary toasts were proposed and honored, after which Mr and Mrs Rupert Roberts left by train on their honeymoon tour,

my grandpa passed away yesterday : (

I'm posting this because on flickr as in real life, so many of my friendships owe their beginnigs to Bonz, Finster and Kirby. Pictures of these guys outrank all of my attempts and "serious" photography, and even my images of half naked mermaids. So I feel somewhat obliged to let my flickr friends know that Bonz is no longer with us.

Bonz lost his fight this morning with his illness and passed away at home. We were thankful that he was with us and the other 2 boys. Bonz had been suffering with severe intestinal inflammation. He had been in a state of decline for a long time (with several fairly long, happy remissions) but until very, very recently had been pretty chipper, able to eat enthusiastically and carry on his normal pug routine. He'd held his own until late Friday last week and yesterday just couldn't manage normal day to day activities.

We were lucky enough to be able to have Bonz because someone else couldn't keep him. He was not a dog that would've even been a wise choice to pick. We got him when he was underweight, unhousebroken, completely neurotic with all sorts of separation anxiety and a prior eye surgery- a tall order for a new puppy to bring into our home. Not to mention that he was probably the homeliest little thing we'd ever seen. We had some reservations but he succeeded in winning us over completely. Bonz also managed to convince almost everyone he met to provide him with his sole joy in life—a lap to snore away in or a warm body to snuggle up to.

We'll surely miss our wee troll. If we could ask a small favor‚ the next time you see an animal rescue group in your shopping center, greenmarket or pet place, please throw a couple bucks in the jar so that some other little beastie gets a chance to find his family.

Once his procedure is complete, Luke joins the Princess and droids at the large Medbay window. Luke tries to comfort the heartbroken Leia as they gaze into the peaceful starfield and watch as the Millennium Falcon breaks away from the Rebel Fleet. Will Lando and Chewbacca track down the nefarious Boba Fett and rescue Han from his frozen, Carbonite prison? Will the Rebels finally defeat the wicked Galactic Empire? Check back in 3 years. Ha! Ha!

I think it would have been cheating just to print out a picture and slap it on the back of this diorama, so instead I made this shadowbox. I used foamcore again for the shadowbox and completely covered the inside with black sheets of sticky-back foam. I spraypainted the whole thing flat black so this back section wouldn't draw too much attention away from the front. I dotted the inside with white acrylic to make the stars. In the movie, the Falcon flys away from the fleet and makes a left around a beautiful, starry formation. I didn't think I'd be able to paint it on and make it convincing, so I just ommited it altogether. The tiny Millennium Falcon is actually a keychain that I bought for a couple of dollars. I removed the chain that was on it and gave it a black paint wash to bring out more of the fine sculpted details. I drilled a hole in the side of it at an angle and used a nail to attach it to the inside of the shadow box. I placed it at an angle to give the impression that it's flying away and to conceal the nail holding it in place. You can't see the nail at all, no matter what angle you look at it through the window. I glued a thin sheet of plexiglass to the back of the Medbay section and finally, I glued the shadowbox section to the back of the diorama. The flat black paint & glare on the plexiglass helps to keep you from seeing the inside corners of the shadowbox and adds to the effect, but the plexiglass glare also made this diorama very difficult to photograph.

We said goodbye to my beautiful Zooie on March 3. He fought the good fight but his body was just wearing out.

I'm sorry I couldn't post this before now. I know some of my special flickr friends have been worried.

I am so heartbroken. I miss him terribly. I want him back.

Oct.19, 2010 - Please think good thoughts for Kismet. She has just been diagnosed with a lymphoma (cancer) in her stomach. She is starting on a treatment of steroid and chemotherapy drugs. The oncologist vet tells me that cats usually tolerate this treatment well and their average survival rate can be years.

Feb. 28, 2011 - We lost our battle against Kismet's cancer. Her poor little body just shut down. I am heartbroken.

Well. Have you ever slipped on a banana ? o-o I have D: Twice ...different times, same day .

First time it happened, was during school , it made sense that there was a banana peel right next to the trash can . So I was running over to my friend Philip because hes just awesome like that , and he was like my best friend, so of course I had to greet him Good Morning and yaddayadda. I slipped on a banana peel next to the trash can and then tripped over a box and almost landed INSIDE the trash -__-"

Second time it happened, I were setting up the gym for prom, and like there were no bananas around o-o It was all like , gourmet little pastries and drinks. No bananas o-o

Then I started running over to my friend Philip..AGAIN.. because I needed to ask him something , and like a random banana peel was on the ground and I just slip and slide -__-"
