Same sunset shoot at Glenelg, South Australia.

Standard 3 exposure shots (-2..0..+2 EV) tonemapped in Photomatix then retouched in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I created an HDR awhile ago as one of my first attempts at HDR. I've recently stumbled upon my HDR Shasta photo again and I decided to take the photo back into Photoshop Elements 9 to see how I could improve the photo. I removed color hues and increased saturation. Also I chopped the photo with some black as an upper and lower background for a cinema feel. Nothing to fancy as I barely know what I'm doing.

Programs used: Photomatix (Free Version), Photoshop Elements 9 ($99), Topaz Labs Denoise & Adjust 4 ( $179 Package Deal included other filters), Irfanview (Unlocked $10 Donation).

HDR, of course... I wish Photomatix had better tone-mapping controls. It's for that reason I still use the trial version... so, if you know of a better HDR software, I'm listening.

Will eventually photoshop out the power lines for a cleaner look.

This was also taken at the Danville, IL Veteran's Hospital complex. The buildings are some old greenhouses. This was actually taken from my car, as I didn't really feel like getting out.

I am glad I did not, because I really like the curb running through the picture, and how it is half natural cement colors and half painted yellow. The curb and sidewalk help make some nice lines going through this.

Shot this in HDR to make sure everything was exposed properly. I bumped up the strength of the photo which gave it the vignetting.

Well I downloaded the Trial of Photoshop Cs5 to see how I liked the New Hdr Pro. I have to say if you are going for a more realistic look it works very well. Still Playing with it a bit and I have to say that the Content Aware is not what it was made out to be.

7 Exposures Merged and Tonemapped in CS5 and NIk Color Efex In CS4

Don't you wish every sunset was a HDR sunset.

This image is from a collection of handheld shots I took of the sunset in Melkbos. I used a split exposure to capture -1/0/+1 images. Because it was handheld, I had to align the images before running HDR. The Luminance HDR software I used struggled to align the images because of the poor contrast, so I had to pre-align the images in GIMP. The slight ghosting is probably due to poor alignment.

Sorry I used the same title and description for all of these shots but I had too many of the sames thing to justify me naming and describing all of them. These are all 5 exposure HDRs taken hand held inside the Kentucky State Capitol building in Frankfort Ky. I went there on a day trip a while back and took my d300s with me. I was not allowed a tripod in the building so HDRs were difficult at low ISO so my photos came out a little noisier than I'd like.
