While living next to the CSX mainline is great, you learn to be more excited about placing a train in a shot more than the power, as it's pretty hard to get excited about CSX gevos. The DL is a place you go to get excited about the power: this unique short line rosters an impressive lineup of vintage Alco locomotives, and on Saturday, all 3 on the train were in company paint hauling the mail to Cresco. In charge of the train is M636 #3643, built by the Montreal Locomotive works for CP, followed by #3000, built for BC Rail and #3642, the only operable C636 IN THE WORLD built for the Penn Central. They are seen here roaring through Tobyhanna, PA in perfect fall foliage.
Purpose of the visit to the WCML was to photograph the train bringing the new MK5 Sleeper coaches to Polmadie.
66572 is seen passing Wandel Mill as the snow starts to ease with 6X05, 0334 Tees Dock - Polmadie working. With hopper wagons either side of the 4 new coaches it is seen on the 13th February 2018 at 0900.
There was 12 coaches brought into Tees Dock and were moved to Polmadie in batches of 4, this being third trip made.
I pulled off the northbound Arizona I-17 freeway at the Bloody Basin intersection. I drove over the highway and parked on the opposite side. I walked towards the highway and came to a vantage point where I could see a wide sweep of the downhill curve. I set my IPHone 6s Plus to panorama to get ready for the shot. This bright red sem cab caught my eye. I pointed the camera up the hill and tripped the shutter and then smoothly panned until the semi had filled the whole LED screen. Voila, "Long Haul Trucker"!

CN M39531 21 climbs the hill out of Brampton with CN 8853, IC 2714, and CN 8830. In the background you can see downtown Brampton, where 395 is likely just clearing Brampton GO as it stretches the 2 miles between Brampton and Bovaird. At right, GO 621E is lined to Brampton, where they will switch to the middle track for the station, before going back to track 3 at Peel. Mile 18 (exactly) CN Halton sub.

The eastbound Long Beach Hauler, MLBWC 09, passes through Pomona, CA. SD60Ms were still the norm on most haulers out of West Colton at this point in time.
Mark puts the 2301 to work and adds some contrast to the sky by pulling 40 cars of pipe into America's Central Port. 23 cars from a previous pipe train remain on the property and that made for fun viewing of switching for Grady and I as we watched Mark & Mike stash these 40 cars in a few cuts around the port. Plenty of business is a good thing but will make for some tricky days of switching this week. Thanks to Mark for the heads up on this movement.

Gold Ridge has long been a favorite spot on the old Central of Georgia, and 377 wastes no time hustling thru as evidenced by the leaves getting kicked up from the ballast.
