We struck gold this weekend with the blizzard snow that happened the prior day. We watched this Baldie picking away at this dead coyote for awhile. The only reason we had to leave the scene was an approaching car behind us was closing in quickly. I'll be posting more treats soon :) Click for large view.

SD20 2030 is riding the magic dragon.... I mean roller coaster up and down the line pushing it's train of empty side dumps back to the pits to drop off these and quickly turn on a train of loads. These trains at Port Inland are one man jobs that run all remote control but its common for the operator to swap off with a guy in the pit and they'll take over running the loaders throughout the day to break up the non stop round trips to and from the pits and docks. In the background the train's next climb will take them up and over the CN Manistique sub. At one point WC SDL39's ran this route and before that it was electrified.
