As previously mentioned I was the 2nd shooter for the Buena Vista Bike Fest in May. This shot was taken on the last hill before the cyclists descend back into Buena Vista, Colorado. This rider doesn't look nearly as cold as the rider in the previous post of this race.
Strobist Info: (Borrowed) Canon 430EX at 1/2 power just out of frame camera left to lift the shadows on the rider's faces (You can see refection on rider's glasses). Triggered via Pocket Wizard Plus II's.

The launching of the hate balloons! This was the best part! Everyone writes down what they hate (I brought a printout of my pet peeves blog post) and launches their hate into the sky! Who among us can say they've launched their hate into the sky?
...And yes, my pet peeves list was printed on boths ides of the paper, for Maximum Hate Density(tm). Unfortunately, the balloon could only support 1 of the 2 pieces of paper (my list was 4 pages long), so I chose the paper that had the most individual Items Of Hate listed on it. I wanted to be sure to launch as much hate as possible into the sky!!

It was probably inevitable. I tried to create a photo stream which calls upon “the better angels of our nature” and have people see through a humanitarian lens the suffering in Gaza and Israel. I made it clear I was not taking a political position or trying to debate. I just wanted to call attention to the suffering of innocent people. Politics crept in.
This evening when I logged on to my site I found comments “justifying” the killing of children under one of my recently posted picture. There were links to hateful propaganda.
I did not ban the individuals from posting on my photos in the future because they are talented photographers and I greatly respect their work. But I ask that they respect my work as well. If they want to “justify” the Israeli government or Hamas killing innocent children, or otherwise perpetuate the hate that keeps the suffering going, they are free to do it on their photo stream---but not on mine.
