Interesting fact about dowitchers, the chicks are able to walk immediately upon hatching. When all the chicks are hatched, they all leave the nest, the parents never feed them.

Racks and racks of butterfly pupae. Some hung from pins, others lay along little posts -- all depending on the kind of butterfly. New butterflies clung to mesh screens at either end, drying their delicate wings and figuring out the new lives and bodies they emerged into. It must be confusing.
