This is the one I opened because I figured it was dead starting into hatch day 22. Still kicking at 22 days 3 hours.

Memorial Day weekend, 2009, fishing trip. Dragonflies were hatching all along the riverbank on Kettle Creek in Pennsylvania. They were really cool to watch. Had to crop a lot to get this, the larger size doesn't look as good.

A hatching year female Black-throated Blue Warbler was trapped, banded, photographed, and released at Sand Bluff Bird Observatory near Durand, Illinois this morning.

All banding, marking, and sampling is being conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the U.S. Geological Survey’s BBL.

Welcome to the world! Most of our research hatchlings hatch and emerge naturally from nests where their mothers lay them (in temporary, outdoor, semi-natural nesting pens). However, due to a particularly dry autumn, some of the nest needed to be carefully excavated and brought indoors.
