There was an incubator-box-thingy in the agriculture building at The Big E. It didn't take much timing to get this, since chicks hatch very, very slowly. However, it did take some wrangling to get close enough to get this view. I still can't understand how it came out acceptably sharp--it was pretty dim in there, and the shutter speed is something insanely low.

There I was, enjoying chocolate eggs, when I found the most peculiar treat inside...
13-Feb-2019 08:55 AM IST:
When I reached office and was trying to fill in my water bottle, there were a couple of specks on the window glass near the water dispensing machine. I generally ignore such specks, but what made me curious was that there were two specks, one off-white or ivory color and the other one was green patch. The green patch was without a doubt a praying mantis sitting besides the speck as she was moving gradually. That is when it struck me that that the ivory speck that I'm staring at is the egg clutch of this green praying mantis. Waited till she was done and then picked up my camera to shoot the scene, by which time mom has abandoned her prize clutch.
13-Feb-2019 to 5-Mar-2019:
Everyday at office, once in morning and once in evening, check whether there is any movement near the egg casing. However, morning checks were very sincere as I've seen few other species preferring to hatch in the mild sun of the dawn.
6-Mar-2019 08:30 AM IST (21st Day):
Almost forgot about the eggs, thanks to the year-end March month priorities, which makes one forget about everything else in life. Was filling water and there were tiny little ants moving about on the same window glass on the outside. Sharpened my eyes to see that these were not ants, but black baby mantises. Ran back to get the camera and by the time I reached there, all but one or two have hatched. All kids conglomerated in a place near the egg case, as though that is the emergency gathering point during the fire drills. Two to four babies were still holding the fort and not willing to leave the place in which they were secure for 21 days. Captured a few nice photos from a safe distance without frightening the gathered crowd or the hatching-in-progress babies in any way. Finally, there were 27 black little stars with thin and bright yellow bands in their bodies.
Explored on 13 June 2009!
A peculiar sculpture at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland. I think its official name is 'Jet Nest'. Made of highly polished metal, the sculpture has a strong link to aviation, as it shows a “jet” emerging from an egg which very much resembles an engine pod. The “jet” is strikingly similar in lines and shape to the Concorde.
Well, it certainly is a striking sculpture!!
HANDMADE
Rectangular handmade wooden craft 50 x 12 cm
I had this piece of wood and I didn't know what to do, then I came up with the idea of creating something fun. I've pyrographed three hens, one on top of the other, that are hatching eggs. The first, in the waiting, is knitting, the second is reading a book and the third is playing on the cell phone waiting for the eggs to hatch. I had a lot of fun creating it and although it took a long time the work satisfied me a lot and I hope you like it too!!!!
I put a hook to be able to attach it to the wall, you choose the room, I think it is adaptable to any room. I finished the work with a layer of transparent protective paint (topcoat) to make the wood's design and veins brighter.

I did some simple rock balancing while exploring this place with interesting rock formations. The area was once a mountain, but after millions of years of erosion, it was ground down and mostly erased. Enormous glaciers from the last ice age polished what was left of the mountain, leaving smooth granite hills and dropping large deposits of sand and gravel along the way. Even though the mountains are long gone, people still gave them a name "The Grenville mountains"
While hatching, the parent birds alternate the task. The female gets impatient and is on the look-out for her husband...
Black skimmer (Rynchops niger) eggs in what passes for a nest in a slight depression in the sand on a Tapajós River beach at low water.
Agapanthus africanus is a native of the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.
Amaryllidaceae
Very popular in gardens in Australia, as it is hardy plant, easy-going, drought- and heat-hardy, with stunning summer flowers.
A few weeks ago about a dozen turkeys and half a dozen guineas all hatched on the same Sunday. Impeccable timing!
Have been keeping an eye on a pair of Coots that have been building a next. Visited the nest today and this was one of the amazing sight that I saw.
Another alternate of LEGO 31021 Furry Creatures with movable head, jaw, legs, tail and with eggshell remains.

The eggs that some misguided bug laid on the tupperware in my kitchen sink are hatching this morning. Maybe this will get me closer to an ID: Any idea what these are? I'm sure momma was supposed to lay the eggs near some food for them, but failed miserably. Clearly, plastic doesn't fit their needs.

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp,
but which, if you will sit down quietly,
may alight upon you.
