A memoir by Jadurani dasi aka Syamarani dd reminisces her journey in the spiritual sect of the Hare Krishna.

 

Jadurani dasi is an initiated name given by her spiritual master, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (affectionately known as Prabhupada) sometime in 1960s. She was tasked by Prabhupada as one of the main artists responsible for Prabhupada’s books.

 

In 1996, Jadurani dasi was nicknamed, Syamarani dd by her instructing spiritual master, His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja who also ordered her to carry out her artistic for his books as well as to preach worldwide.

 

The book was published on October 2019. Syamarani dd is still travelling extensively and giving talks on her journey of spiritual art around the globe.

www.portafoliofoto.com/los-devotos/ - Las madres entrenan a sus hijos desde la edad de los 5 años para que se conviertan en un devoto, toda madre, debe cuidar a su hijo y entrenarlo y emprender austeridades y penitencias en procura de la realización espiritual. El beneficio será que si su hijo se convierte en un devoto como Dhruva, ciertamente, no sólo será transferido de vuelta a casa, sino que ella también será transferida con él al mundo espiritual.

Paseando por las Ramblas de Barcelona han pasado unos 15 o 20 cantando y tocando el mantra.

Los hombres visten dhotis (pantalones-túnica). de color naranja (para los monjes célibes). o blanco (tanto para los devotos casados como para los «neófitos»). Las mujeres se envuelven en saris (túnicas) multicolores carentes de significado espiritual. Todas visten igual: niñas, solteras, casadas, neófitas o «devotas antiguas». Algunas viudas visten con saris blancos, indicando que no están disponibles para formar pareja. Las devotas casadas indican su estado adhiriéndose un punto rojo en la frente.

Shot it at Gangasagar Fair.Gangasagar Mela is the largest fair celebrated in West Bengal (INDIA). This fair is held where the Ganga and the Bay of Bengal form a nexus. Hence the name Gangasagar Mela. This festival is celebrated during January every year and is a major attraction for millions of pilgrims from all over India.

The pilgrims come for a holy dip on Makar Sankranti (last day of the Bengali Month) Negha -Mid January. They take dips in the Ganges and offer water to the Sun God. The dip, as they say, purifies their 'self' and according to them, 'punya' can be obtained thus. When they are done with the ritual obligations, they head towards the Kapilmuni Temple situated nearby, to worship the deity as a mark of respect......
