Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Here's a few from last summer that I've just been having a look over again... :)
I had been out for a photoshoot of the sunrise and was just lay down at the sofa in the country house, than I discover Mr. Hare on our access road. Luckily I had the camera at the sofatable so i could take this picture true the windows. I got it printed and it has got its well deserved place on the wall.
Thank you all who fave and comment on my photo'/video's,much appreciated. And thank you all for looking.
Mountain Hare - Saddleworth. Very cold day and not easy to get close to these beautiful animals. Shot taken at distance. Great respect for these mammals. I last about 4 hours they have to manage 24/7 :)
Great to get out and about while the weather is dry i came across this hare looking at me not moving checking me out lucky to get a shot of his eye
One of seven brown hares seen at the top of the Cotswold escarpment in open fields close to Cleeve Common on Tuesday morning.
The Irish Hare is arguably the Oldest living Irish Mammal with fossil evidence dating back to 30,000BC during the most recent Ice Age - it certainly is good luck to see one grazing in a Fermanagh field
A pair of Scottish Mountain Hares still in their winter coats sit among the brown heather near the shores of Loch Vrotachcan.
Lepus europaeus
Brown hares, the hare common to the wild in the UK are thought to have been introduced in Roman Times.
Back to the Hares!
The weather hasn't been great recently so opportunities with these guys haven't been as frequent. But they're still about and always exhilarating when they come close...
I'd planned to head up to Scotland to spend more time with these beauties in just over a week's time. Obviously with Covid restrictions in the UK at the moment that won't be possible, so yet another trip to defer to next year!
I've been looking back over some old images and these two were from my first encounter with Mountain Hares in Scotland. Such an amazing experience!
In between the showers i was hoping to spot one of our local brown hares (Lepus europaeus). This one obliged but ran past me from behind before turn round and coming back towards me
Our hares are giving me the runaround this year - finally managed to get reasonably close but never close enough.
Bucket list item for me. Always wanted to try to shoot hares, but never found the time to actually do it. Today I spent a few hours walking and looking, but found nothing. Got back in the car, drove a mile down the road and this guy was sat in a field next to me. Spent an hour watching him and waiting for him to make a move. Blurry shot at the end, but it will do for a first go and make me go back to do a better job next time.
