At the beginning of each year I always make a backup of my processed photo's. I even have a backup of my backup. Please note the average lifetime of a harddisk is only 5 years. So do not forget to renew your harddisk. Regular backup protects your data. My digital photo backup started in 1998. My photo's are precious to me. My photo's are not yet in the cloud. Whether it's the best of times or the worst of times, it's the only time we've got. The clock is ticking. Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future. Photo of the Clock Tower of Kotor. Kotor dates back to the Middle Ages and thanks to its preserved center, it is on the UNESCO list of natural and historical World Heritage Sites. On the Main Square you’ll see the impressive Clock Tower was built in 1602. A landmark Of Kotor. It was built partly in Baroque style, while the northern and eastern facades were built in Gothic style.

It is one minute to twelve. Time is running out. It's time to backup your precious photos. Photo of the Clock Tower of Kotor - Montenegro. Built in 1602.

Regelmatige back-ups beschermen uw gegevens. Mijn digitale fotoback-up begon in 1998.

In meinen Augen? Wunderschön. :)

Another find on my harddisk. A shot from 2013.

Took some shots of a harddisk today. There is just one Strobe from the left above.

This one was taken with my EF 100 Macro Lens. It is my favorite lens at the moment.

Low cost TGV operations by THI Factory are branded Izy and run twice daily between Paris and Brussels with an additional third return on Sunday evening. Here the Izy is spotted at Ruisbroek station.

This photo was taken in 2016 and the sky was blown out by the terrible lighting at the time. Fast forward a few years and I came across it on the harddisk, having a go at it again by replacing a washed out sky.

This is another version of the portrait I made to illustrate the Fortune's special about Steve Jobs.

Hey Friends,

today's photo is again of the beautiful city of Singapore.

I don't know why I am drawn to this city over and over again. Possibly it is because of the wonderful skyline, the warm nights, the beautiful sundowns, the incredible shows going on daily or the delicious food.

Whatever it is, there is so much to discover in Singapore. And if you just stop and watch a moment of peace, like this here captured in the photo you can imagine what heaven must be like. :)

Thanks for all your support. I am glad to have you guys around me

By the way… I just had a horrible data crash. I bought a new 2TB Harddisk. I moved all my photos to the drive and after two days it broke down completely. There is no chance of data restoring without paying at least 1000 Euro.

That’s really hard.

Luckily enough I could find a software which was able to restore the data from the old harddrive. Too bad that there was no folder structure left. I really had to sort all my images to be able to use my Lightroom catalogue… What a bummer! Be warned, Backup your images, never move them! The day this will happen to you, you will remember my words… It is endless pain!

I send out love to you guys!

Ben

After I finished my holidays photos of Portugal it's time to make a backup of my processed photo's. I even have a backup of my backup. Please note the average lifetime of a harddisk is only 5 years. Photo of a Swiss Military Hanowa watch. Hanowa was founded in 1963 in Bienne, Switzerland, by Hans Noll. In 1990, the brand made this look its signature style with the founding of Swiss Military Hanowa, with an emphasis on robust sports watches at accessible prices. Since then has combined Swiss-Made quality with sporty design. The addition of ‘Swiss Military’ highlights the values of the Swiss armed forces: robustness, endurance and high precision as, well as the ability to function in extreme conditions.

Macro photo taken with a modified Canon EF35-80mm f/4-5.6 lens. Turn your old Kit Lens into a superb Macro lens by removing the front element. Give this old lens a new life. It's a macro shot of my Revenge Dual Time Watch from Swiss Military-Hanowa. Since it was founded in 1963, Hanowa has excelled in the production of watches that are both sporty and trendy.

At first glance, the Canon EF35-80mm f/4-5.6 seems like a very average lens. However, if you can look past the plastic mount, slow aperture, and cheap build quality, this lens is by far the best macro lens out there for its price. A simple modification is needed to turns this otherwise ordinary lens into a super-macro lens that works in a similar fashion to the Canon MP-E 65mm. I removed the front sticker, unscrewed 3 retaining screws, and removed the front 3 elements (the AF elements). Please check youtu.be/5a6n_OAmjSg With these elements removed, the lens is focused by either zooming it in/out or by moving the camera back/forth, just like one would do with the MP-E 65mm 1-5x macro lens. The loss of autofocus is hardly a concern since the camera will still tell you when you hit the currently selected focal point, so I tend to use those and shoot as soon as you hear the beep of your camera. After the mods, I would say that this lens goes from around 1:1.5 to ~2:1 life size magnification. Truly amazing results for something I bought for less than 25 EUR in an Used Product store. Indeed, even dedicated macro lenses can't exceed 1:1 magnification without using extension tubes. And, to make the deal even sweeter, you still get full electronic metering and aperture controls just like you would with any other EF lens. The focussing distance is tiny, at 35mm you have maybe 5cm and more like 2cm at 80mm, it's not a very easy lens to use, but this is what makes getting the good shots so much more rewarding! Photo of an old Vostok watch. Vostok Russian: Вoctok, meaning East Watch Makers produces mainly rugged military watches at its factory in Chistopol, Tatarstan, Russia. The Vostok Company was founded in 1942. Only defence equipment was produced during the war years, but as soon as the war was over the company started making mechanical wrist watches. However, the Company did not begin using the Vostok brand name until the 1960s. *Presumable "Vostok" brand was named after the Vostok space programme, which gave the initial advancement of the USSR in the Space race. Watches sold to the military were marked ЗАКАЗ МО СССР, meaning Ordered by the Ministry of Defence of the USSR. These models were sold exclusively through Voentorg stores, which catered to military personnel with identification only. Today, these models have become sought-after collectibles. In early 2010, Vostok Watch Factory filed for bankruptcy and their official web page was disabled vostokinc.com

This is my "complementary perfect match" contribution to this MM theme :).

Complementary Perfect Match in the manner that a HDD is a mechanical and also an electronic device. Both techniques fit together.

A 2.5" hard drive.

Taken with a Minolta Rokkor 100mm Macro. Proceed with Darktable.

Part of the series I'm working on for my major project. Some really bad unexpected stuff happened.

(I encountered a snatch theft, he stole my laptop, phone and wallet and phoned my friends threatening them as well as admitting he was a stalker and illegal immigrant, Unfortunately he has not been apprehended yet despite making so many mistakes...)

I lost all my work.. and had to redo everything because I misplaced my harddisk.. Then I used an old laptop as a substitute which crashed on me.. So now I am relying on my boyfriend's laptop and I am diligently backing all my work every day..

I wanted to post these in order but I thought this image fit Halloween rather well, I'm not dressed up all spooky but it has the ambiance :) Happy Halloween! I wish my country would be more enthusiastic about it (and I don't mean people who dress skanky, I love people who really dress up to look spooky but sadly most people see it as an excuse to dress as little as possible)

*The fog effect is not Photoshop! It is Dry Ice and the gate is actually a miniature from Warhammer Fantasy, I love painting these :)*

My latest book. But onely in Norwegian.

Then the book about The Magic Runes is finished.

Here you will find the story of the runes, the most exciting our Nordic wolves left behind. Symbols filled with occult explosive power, as effective today as they were when they came into being.

The manuscript was originally written in 1991. It came about shortly after I finished Shaman's horse.

At that time I had already used the runes as guides and guides for several years. They had served me so well that I decided to share the knowledge with you.

The story of the runes was almost finished when the construction of Bronze Square overshadowed everything else. The magic runes were left hidden and almost forgotten on an old hard drive.

Only in 2014 did I reopen the old manuscript. After a quick read, I posted The Magic Runes on 'gormjarl.no'.

Over the next few years, statistics showed that more and more people were visiting. It was clear that what I wrote about the runes was popular.

In the winter of 2019, the last book in the series Sagaen on Vilje Gormsdatter was published, finally I had time to read the manuscript that was online. I realized that the reader deserved a more readable presentation.

Today, after 1155 hours behind keyboards, the magic runes have become the way I feel you and I deserve it.

To understand the runes, it is important to understand the life, the world view and, not least, the conditions of those who characterized them. The first part of the book is devoted to the actual and occult history of men, a symbiosis in which facts and fiction are at times difficult to distinguish.

I tell you about the occult figures that characterized the runemakers' everyday life, trolls, jotns, elves not to forget Habits and Aces. There are many to take off.

It is almost two thousand years since Nordic wolves first activated the runes. Seeing women who with the help of Seid filled the mind of each rune with their occult knowledge. A magical reality that is still available, as strong as it was then.

In the second part of the book I go through rune by rune. You will become acquainted with the character's cosmology, before sharing my own experience with the rune and explaining how the occult symbols act as guides in different oracles.

If you become friends with the runes, you get 24 helpers who know the past, understand the present and give you a glimpse into the future. The occult symbols give you the answers you need.

Du bestiller De magiske runene fra gormjarl@online.no

Kr 400 inkluderer forsendelse innenlands.

Attached the 2016 harddisk a couple of days back and found that there were many images that i never shared. One of them is here.

Came across a picture of this tiny iconic glider when I was searching for somethoing else on my harddisk. This litte thingy consists of only 12 pieces, so it was a no brainer to rebuild it.

Set number is 885 from 1979
